[edit] Early life

Her mother, Michelle Patterson (1 out of 8 children), is the daughter of Reverend George Patterson who is a minister of the Pentecostal Church Christ Temple Church of the Apostolic Faith in Utica, New York[citation needed]; her father's name is Alex Pollard. Tiffany has expressed that she started smoking as a minor, at the tender age of 17. She attended John F Kennedy Middle School and Thomas R Proctor High School. While attending Thomas R Proctor High School she was known as a "Man's Lady". Her yearbook pictures in the 1997 JFK yearbook are quite memorable. She has reported to radio station HOT 97 that she is working on quitting her smoking habit.[4] Her parents are not married.[2].

[edit] Flavor of Love

Main article: Flavor of Love

Tiffany clashed with virtually everyone in the house at one time or another, including contestants Thela 'Rain' Brown, Nicole 'Hoopz' Alexander, London Deelishis Charles, Larissa 'Bootz' Hodges, Becky 'Buckwild' Johnston, Schatar 'Hottie' Taylor, and Brooke 'Pumkin' Thompson. Although these feuds were, in general, nothing more than screaming matches, an incident in the penultimate episode of season one lead to violence. After her elimination, an outraged Brooke Thompson spit on Pollard after the two had exchanged words. Pollard vowed to "whoop Pumkin's ass," and attempted to do so at the season one reunion. However, in another VH1 special, it showed New York and Pumkin making up at a club. Meanwhile, the final two contestants journeyed to Mexico where Flav chose Nicole "Hoopz" Alexander to be his mate.

After his relationship did not work out with Alexander, Flav chose to do a second season of his dating show, and invited Pollard to participate. She agreed, but was once again eliminated, finally severing her romantic connection to Flav. Pollard verbally fought with Flav in the season finale, asking why he had brought her back. However, the two announced on the Flavor of Love Reunion show that aired October 28, 2006 that they would remain friends.

Due to her outlandish personality and convenient elimination on both "Flavor of Love" runs (the finales which also had the highest ratings for VH1 ever), many viewers question the sincerity of New York's feelings for Flav and/or the "reality" of the show. In February 2007, Pollard was a guest on The Tyra Banks Show, where she stated she had, "No feelings for Flav because of his ignorocity."[5]

Tiffany is recently featured in Blender and KING.

[edit] I Love New York

In October of 2006, Pollard announced plans for her own dating show, I Love New York, which began airing on January 8, 2007. The series tracks the lives of twenty men as they compete for her love, following the same theme as Flavor of Love. The show is the most watched series debut in VH1 history.[citation needed]
