Tie the Knot is an Australian thoroughbred racehorse, who was bred and raced by Mr OP Tait, Mrs S S Nivison. He was a chestnut gelding sired by NASSIPOUR (USA) from Whisked (by Whiskey Road). In 1998/1999 he was the Champion Older Horse of the year.

He won the Sydney Cup in both 1998 and 1999. Tie the Knot's record was: 21 wins and 17 minor placings and earnings of $6,212,410 from his 62 starts. His total of 13 group one wins has been topped only by Kingston Town's 14 and is equal to Sunline's. His $6,212,410 in stakemoney places him fourth to Makybe Diva, Sunline and Northerly on the all-time Australasian list.
