Tideford

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tideford is a small village in east Cornwall, England, United Kingdom, at 50°23′42″N, 4°18′35″W. Its name derives from its location on the River Tiddy, literally meaning "Ford on the River Tiddy".

The village is located on the A38 between Saltash and Liskeard. It does not have a railway station, the nearest being at St Germans, some two miles south of the village. Tideford has a butchers shop, a Post Office, and a small public house. There is a small early-Victorian church. The bridge over the River Tiddy dates from the 14th century.
