[edit] Summary
Xana attacks the team by possessing a large amount of food. At the same time, he tries to submerge all of the sectors (but not Sector 5) of Lyoko in the digital sea, preventing anything from accessing it. Soon Jeremy realizes that Xana's monsters are attacking the Core Of Lyoko. Odd and Aelita manage to make it to Carthage to stop him. Aelita tries to find a way to lower the digital sea's level. Meanwhile Odd manages to make it to Lyoko's Core and destroys Xana's monsters.
[edit] Recap
After a mission to Carthage, Jeremie mulls over the data collected in the hopes of finding a way to virtualize people directly into the internet to fight Xana. He doesn't have time at the moment, however, because there's a meeting at the gym. Odd wants to get breakfast first, but there's no time.
In the Gym, Odd's stomach is growling from a lack of food. Jeremie comments that he had a candy bar earlier, but Odd retorts that it was nothing in comparison to his regular meals. The regular class has been canceled in favor of a lecture on nutrition from the school nurse, which isn't helping Odd. After the lecture finishes, Jim boasts that he's in perfect shape, only to get a cramp after stretching. Jeremie turns to talk to Odd, only to find that Odd snuck out sometime during the lecture.
In the cafeteria, Odd tries to get one of his regular meals, but finds that all the normal food has been replaced with heathly alternatives, none of which are as filling as his regular meals. Needless to say, he isn't happy about it. After Jeremie arrives and makes plans to decipher the data they got from Carthage, Aelita ends up being the only one to go with him. Yumi has Italian class and Odd has other plans that require Ulrich's help.
In the Lab, an activated tower appears on the scanner before Jeremie can even reach the terminal. He contacts Yumi first. Bored by her Italian class, as well as William's flirting, she asks to be excused. William makes a similar request in order to follow her. While he continues his flirting, she ditches him, entering the sewer while he remains confused as to where she went. He calls Ulrich next. Ulrich is ready to go, but Odd wants to get something to eat first, and plans to sneak into the cafeteria to do so. however, Jim has beaten them to it. Odd berates Jim for ignoring the lecture on nutrition he made them sit through. The two are interrupted when an apple breaks one of the cafeteria windows. Every other item of food follows it, piling up in front of them.
In the factory, Yumi arrives to find that Odd and Ulrich haven't arrived. A quick call to Ulrich gives the reason behind this. The pile of food has now formed a monster capable of using its component parts as projectiles. Jeremie sends Aelita and Yumi to Lyoko to deactivate the tower. Once they arrive, they take the Overwing. Jeremie informs them that Krabes are following them, and the Krabes promptly fire once spotted. In addition to having two Krabes chasing them, they find another blocking the path ahead. Yumi dives below the level of the path to dodge the laser fire then flies back up upside-down, allowing Aelita to destroy the Krabe with an energy orb.
At the school, the food monster is still pursuing Jim, Odd, and Ulrich. Jim makes an attempt to slow it down, but only gets himself knocked out by a rain of food projectiles. The monster then reforms to continue its chase.
On Lyoko, another high-altitude maneuver by Yumi allows Aelita to take out another Krabe. With only one left, they head for the tower once more. On the way, Aelita notices that the digital sea is higher than normal, and getting higher by the second. Jeremie confirms this, and realizes that Xana must be raising the level of the digital sea. As the level rises, it takes out the last Krabe. Upon further inspection, Jeremie finds that monsters are once again attacking the core of Lyoko. Jeremie urges them to shut down the tower and deal with the threat. The former goal, however, is impossible, as the digital sea has already engulfed the entrance to the tower. The only course of action left is to get to the edge of the Mountain sector before it's engulfed.
At the school, Odd and Ulrich are still running from the food monster. Jeremie calls to inform them of the situation. Since the tower's not getting shut down any time soon, they have no choice but to get to the factory. Making their way to the sewer, Ulrich stays behind to buy Odd some time. He's able to hold off the monster long enough for Odd to get to the factory with a decent lead. As Ulrich escapes into the sewer, the monster follows him. Ulrich manages to evade it by jumping into the sewer water.
On Lyoko, Aelita and Yumi are surrounded by three Hornets. With their combined firepower, they manage to destroy one, but another manages to knock Yumi off the Overwing. With the digital sea rapidly rising, Jeremie doesn't have enough time to devirtualize her. Aelita does, however, by using an energy orb to forcefully devirtualize Yumi. Odd is sent in her place at about the same moment. Now devirtualized, Yumi goes to help Ulrich.
Still being chased by the Hornets, Aelita crashes near the edge of the sector. She manages to destroy one of the Hornets, but another hits her with a laser. As it prepares to finish her, Odd arrives and destroys it. Jeremie has the two wait at the edge of the sector and calls the Transport Orb to pick them up. Upon arrival in Carthage, Jeremie has Odd head for the core while Aelita finds the code to reverse what Xana is doing to the digital sea.
On the factory floor, Yumi kicks a stray can, which leads back to the food monster. For obvious reasons, she begins running. The food monster is faster, though, and little by little it closes the gap. Lucky for her, Ulrich arrives with a pipe in hand and beats the food monster into a pile. This does little good, however, as it can just reform.
After making their way through Carthage with little effort, Aelita and Odd part ways. Within the core room, Odd finds three Mantas attacking the core. Odd's annoyed that he has to fight three of them on an empty stomach. One breaks formation to deal with Odd. In the small room, Odd has trouble dealing with it, and the destruction of one of the core's shields only puts more pressure on him to succeed. Meanwhile, Aelita's work on the interface is interrupted by a pulse of red energy from the walls of Carthage, which materializes into a Creeper. Further up in the core room, Odd finds that a section of the staircase is missing, leaving the two Mantas attacking the core safe from attack. He finds an alternate means of transport in the third Manta, which he jumps on and uses to fly to the top. He destroys it as he jumps off. Jeremie tells him to hurry up, since the final shield around the core can't take much more.
At the interface, Aelita is trying to dodge the Creeper. Jeremie wants to devirtualize her to keep her from being trapped in Carthage, but she insists on getting the information from the terminal. Using a spinning jump, she manages to destroy her assailant.
In a storage area on the factory floor, Ulrich and Yumi are hiding from the food monster. When it seems as if it has left, they walk out. What they don't realize is that it is clinging to the walls around them, and it drops as soon as they emerge from their hiding spot. The food monster appears once more, at which point Ulrich tells Yumi to run. She tries, but is just cut off by another food monster, formed by food that the first one has following her.
In the core room, Odd gets within shooting distance of one of the remaining Mantas. His short conversation with Jeremie gives it time to dive out of the way. It then tries to fire on him, which Odd blocks with his shield. Odd then jumps on the attacking Manta as he did with one in Straight to Heart, destroying it in much the same manner. The last one remains concentrated on its task, allowing Odd to dispatch it easily. At the same time, Aelita retrieves the data necessary to lower the digital sea. Ulrich and Yumi are still fighting the food monsters, and having little luck in staving them off. With the digital sea lowered, Aelita and Odd return to the activated tower on the Overbike. Two Tarantulas attempt to stop them, but Odd merely crashes the Overbike into them, clearing the path instantly and allowing Aelita to deactivate the tower.
With the tower deactivated, the food returns to being normal food. Ulrich teases Odd over the security camera by taking a bite of an apple. Noting that Jim won't forget a giant monster made of food, Odd tells Jeremie to activate a return trip, yelling out that he's hungry while Jeremie does so.
