The Tibet national football team is not internationally recognized. It represents the people of Tibet, many of whom live in exile outside their nation, and who are represented by the Tibetan Government in Exile.

Tibet is neither a member of FIFA nor the AFC and does not participate in international tournaments. However, it has played several matches since 2001, when a former Danish soccer player Michael Nybrandt - supported by the Danish sportswear manufacturer hummel - arranged a match between the Tibetans and fellow stateless nation Greenland National Team, despite pleas by China to Denmark to cancel the match. The goal of the Tibetan Football Association, which controls the team, is to gain official status. Since 2003 they have been a member of NF-Board, which organizes matches for non-official national teams. Tibet took part in the 2006 FIFI Wild Cup, in Hamburg, Germany and also of 2006 ELF Cup, in Northern Cyprus.
