From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The TI-34 II Explorer Plus is a two-line display calculator manufactured by Texas Instruments. It has many features, including:

  • 2 line display
  • More functions than keys (uses menus to help)
  • Stat modes (1 var. and 2 var.)
  • Trigonomic functions (sin, cos, and tan, not to mention their inverses)
  • Algebraic Operating System (AOS)
  • 5 keys to handle fractions
  • Integral Division
  • Probability functions

And there are many, many more.

[edit] 2 line display

This calculator has a two line display, which has many advantages over the traditional single-line display. It allows the AOS to work, you to edit the expressions, you to recall the expressions, and you to view menus (you wouldn't expect to see them in the segmented part, would you). The segmented display line has 10 digits, a negitive indicator, a slash between each digit, and an exponential indicator (*10^##). The function line has a 2nd indicator (most keys have two functions), a decimal place fixture indicator (too bad it doesn't tell you how many places), a quotent/remainder indicator, an indicator to tell you if a fraction can be further simplified, a STAT mode indicator, and an indicator to signal you are working with radians.
