If a material is about "the black swan as a symbol", then it is about "the black swan". Symbology would normally be handled in a separate section in the animal article. Often such a section is entitled "Cultural references", and contains information on emblematic uses, use in logos, appearances on stamps and on money, places named after it, references in popular culture such as TV and music, as so on. See, for example, Emu. You might consider creating a "Cultural references" section in Black Swan, and putting the information in there. Hesperian 11:12, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
