Thurston is a village in Thurston County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 125 at the 2000 census.

Thurston is located at 42°10′36″N, 96°42′1″W (42.176538, -96.700172)GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.3 km² (0.1 mi²), all land.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 125 people, 51 households, and 36 families residing in the village. The population density was 438.8/km² (1,089.7/mi²). There were 54 housing units at an average density of 189.5/km² (470.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the village was 96.80% White, 1.60% from other races, and 1.60% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.60% of the population.

There were 51 households out of which 31.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 68.6% were married couples living together, and 29.4% were non-families. 21.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.45 and the average family size was 2.92.

In the village the population was spread out with 23.2% under the age of 18, 10.4% from 18 to 24, 31.2% from 25 to 44, 16.8% from 45 to 64, and 18.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 36 years. For every 100 females there were 95.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 108.7 males.

The median income for a household in the village was $26,875, and the median income for a family was $41,875. Males had a median income of $28,500 versus $17,083 for females. The per capita income for the village was $12,547. There were 3.4% of families and 5.9% of the population living below the poverty line, including no under eighteens and 5.6% of those over 64.
