'Throw Yourself Away' is a song by Nickelback on their album The Long Road. This song is based on an actual story on a teenage pregnancy.
[edit] Meaning
A senior high student that lived in New Jersey was at her prom dance when she had to go to the washroom and delivered a baby by mistake. Instead of revealing the truth and probably giving the baby up to adoption, she commented homicide on the child. She thought she would get away with it, but she never. Police found the baby in a garbage bag and arrested the young woman on charges of murder. Chad heard about the story and wrote this song. "Throw yourself away" is the saying he used to describe how she could have done the incident the right way or wrong way.
