Throw Down Your Arms is the 2005 release of Sinéad O'Connor and marks her return as an artist after years on a spiritual quest which has led her to Jamaica and reggae. Throw Down Your Arms is a collection of classic reggae songs performed by O'Connor and is produced by Sly and Robbie.
O'connor performs the songs as close to the original versions as she is able to in order to maintain the original message as pure as possible.
The CD was released forty-two years after the speech of Haile Selassie to the United Nations (October 4, 1963) on the day of the annual solar eclipse which is the start of the new year according to the Jewish tradition (Rosh Hashanah).
The album sleeve was designed by evidentlydesign.com.
The album sold 250,000 copies worldwide.
