"Through the Rain" is a pop song performed by singer Mariah Carey. It was composed and written by Carey and Lionel Cole for her eighth studio album Charmbracelet (2002), and it was released as the album's first single in 2002 (see 2002 in music). The song's protagonist is faced with many issues, but she overcomes them to make it "through the rain".

"Through the Rain" had been expected to become Carey's comeback single following the failure of her soundtrack album Glitter (2001) and its singles. However, "Through the Rain" reached number eighty-one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, and it did not enter the Hot 100 Airplay, which had become a trend with several of Carey's singles. While not a major success in the U.S., it fared better elsewhere: it topped the charts in Spain and reached the top ten in Brazil, Canada and the UK.
Most of the lead singles from Carey's previous albums had remixes promoted alongside the main version of the song, usually with a music video accompanying them, but the remix of "Through the Rain" was not given such promotion. Known simply as "Through the Rain (remix)", it features guest vocals from Joe and Kelly Price. Again unlike most of her previous singles, Carey did not re-record any vocals for club remixes of the song, but did send it to several producers to remix. "Through the Rain" was remixed by Hex Hector & Mac Quayle (HQ2), Maurice Joshua, Full Intention and Boris Dlugosch & Michi Lange (Boris & Michi), and unofficially remixed by English producer Love To Infinity (a.k.a. Soda Club). Carey had originally wanted David Morales to create a remix, but he refused unless she re-recorded her vocals (which she did not have time for). Through the rain sold over 1,000,000 copies worldwide .
The music video, directed by Dave Meyers, was filmed on location in New York City; Carey had grown up and lived close by in Long Island, New York. It is based on the courtship and eloping of Carey's parents, Alfred and Patricia Carey (J.D. Williams and Jamie-Lynn Sigler) and incorporates themes from Charmbracelet as well as from Carey's life. It revolves around a charmbracelet and makes heavy use of sunflowers (the penultimate track of the album is entitled "Sunflowers for Alfred Roy").
"Through the Rain" was used in Japan as the ending theme for the 2003 live-action TV adaptation of Kousuke Fujishima's manga You're Under Arrest.

In a MadTv parody titled "Not Insane", comedian Debra Wilson sings the song while portraying Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston. The song makes a connection between the two artists and how they are now perceived as 'insane sell-outs'. The parody also reflects upon Mariah's infamous TRL appearance and rumors of Whitney Houston's drug addiction. The finale has 'Whitney' join 'Mariah' in singing the song.
