"Through the Never" is the 7th song from Metallica's 1991 eponymous album . It features a faster, perhaps thrashier pace than most other songs on the album, and its lyrics speculatedly tell about the never ending pursuit of knowledge.

The song was played on a regular basis during the Nowhere Else To Roam Tour, which lasted from 1991 to 1993. One possible reason why the song is no longer played live is James Hetfield's particular distaste for it, along with "Don't Tread on Me," as revealed in an April 2001 interview with Playboy Magazine. Most fans particularly speculate that it might have some reference to a life long journey for the meaning of life.
