Thrilling Publications

Thrilling Publications (also known as Beacon Magazines, 1936–37; Better Publications, 1937–43, and Standard Magazines, 1943–55) was a pulp magazine publisher run by Ned Pines. It was in operation from the 1920s until 1955, when Pines closed his pulp magazines. Pines also ran a comic book line with the same name, which most collectors refer to as Nedor Comics.
Leo Margulies was a long-time editor at the company.
Pines had started Popular Library in 1942, a paperback publishing house, and would devote himself to that company after closing his other ventures. Popular reprinted materials from the pulps.
