Should there be a mention of clay facial reconstructions here? or is this article solely for computer generated imaging? Runa
[edit] Unfounded claims
The article makes the unfounded claim that 3D face recognition is more accurate than 2D face recognition. I'd like to see the source. From what I have heard, 3D face recognition, being a relatively newer and still developing technology, has not reached a level of accuracy comparable to 2D face recognition, let alone fingerprints. I think the Face Recognition Vendor Test (FRVT) 2006 will be the first large scale independent test of 3D face recognition systems.
- Face it, face recognition, biometrics and whatever else are pure marketing hype. 2D? 3D? Who cares? These things are unrealiable, expensive and in general do not work as intended or advertised. They are, however, very efficient in predating people's privacy, because of all the cameras and recording equipment required. -- Femmina 12:30, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
