[edit] Welcome!

Welcome to Wikipedia, Thorsen! My name is Kit, aka Todfox. I noticed that you were new and haven't received any messages yet. I just wanted to see how you were doing. Wikipedia can be a little intimidating at first, since it uses different formatting than other sites that use HTML and CSS. In the long run, though, you'll find that the WikiSyntax is a lot easier and faster than those other ways. Here are a few links to get you started:

There are a lot of policies and guides to read, but I highly recommend reading over those first. If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. Please be sure to sign your name on Talk using four tildes (~~~~) to produce your name and the current date, along with a link to your user page. This way, others know when you left a message and how to find you. It's easier than having to type out your name, right? :)

I hope you enjoy contributing to Wikipedia. We can use all the help we can get! Have a nice day. Sincerely, Kit 20:43, 24 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Welcome to WikiProject Politics

I just noticed that you added your name to the list of participants at the Politics Wikiproject, I just wanted to say welcome to the Project and thanks for joining. The Project isn't very active but hopefully that will change eventually. If you have any questions or comments, do not hesitiate to contact me. Best wishes. --Robert Harrisontalk contrib 03:38, 30 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Uehida Hyakken

I put a link to Uehida Hyakken because he was a Japanese author. There is another link within Wikipedia to his name List of Japanese authors:U although the page has not been made. It's up to you if it's included or not - what do you think? Jack 12:04, 11 February 2006 (UTC)

That's very true - Unfortunately I also have little knowledge of the Japanese language. Jack 13:00, 11 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Paul Boghossian

Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages. The notices and comments are needed to establish community consensus about the status of an article, and removing them is considered vandalism. If you oppose the deletion of an article, you may comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. --Esprit15d 16:20, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

  • Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia under the three-revert rule, which states that nobody may revert an article to a previous version more than three times in 24 hours. (Note: this also means editing the page to reinsert an old edit. If the effect of your actions is to revert back, it qualifies as a revert.) If you have a problem with the deletion notice, you should make your case at the deletion page, since the discussion for deletion will continue with or without the notice on the article. Thank you.--Esprit15d 16:32, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Boghossian

I have been editing wikipedia for a month (not long I know), and in that time I have seen a large number of articles pounced upon for deletion within a few minutes of their creation. I know why there is an RCP and I'm all for deleting garage bands, stuff made up in school, and similar articles. But I have also seen what look like honest attempts by newcomers to add content squashed. Trout Bum was speedied, prodded and Afd'd within minutes of its creation by a newcomer who was making an honest attempt to add something useful; he was driven away. So much for WP:BITE. I don't know what to do about it. Thatcher131 17:21, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Allan Gibbard

Nicely done with this article, pal. KSchutte 21:44, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Norwegian noble titles

I noticed you have made at least one contribution towards this subject before (from the Mille Treschow talk page). I wonder if you would like to take a look at Norwegian noble titles and contribute there as well?Inge 12:28, 4 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:GreeceAtticaNBKythinia.png

Thanks for uploading Image:GreeceAtticaNBKythinia.png. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 05:06, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] National Democratic Institute

I was looking at it and I agree with your assessment that the article was probably written by the NDI itself. I'm not sure how to change it, though. I could add in a "criticism" section using stuff from Sourcewatch [1] but that's just dueling POVs then -- no? Katsam 00:44, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

Ugh, I hadn't been over there, but that one looks even more like a PR fest. Maybe next week I can roll up my sleeves and wade into both of them. Katsam 08:47, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] J.C. Davies article

Apparently my quick speedy deletion tag on James Chowning Davies was placed in the middle of an attempted cut and paste move of James C. Davies. I'd suggest just letting the speedy deletion run its course. If you want to rename it, please follow the instructions at Help:Moving a page to keep the edit history together. Thanks.--Kchase02 T 06:16, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

While I was moving and rewriting this article you put it up for speedy deletion. I have now finished the task I set about to do, and I have removed your tag, because it obviously was based on an unfortunate misunderstanding, and because the tag is now obsolete. Kindest regards, --Thorsen 06:42, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
I acknowledge that what I did may have been annoyingly disruptive. I am sorry about that. Nonetheless, cut and paste moves are discouraged b/c the page history is then divided among multiple pages.--Kchase02 T 06:48, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Neoliberalism

Thanks! Better yet, thank Slrubenstein, who got the article off to a good start four years ago. In the coming days, let's watch the article to make sure a reasonable outline for future expansion takes form. 172 | Talk 10:48, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image tagging for Image:Gyldenlove.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Gyldenlove.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.
