Thomson North American Legal is the strategic business unit of The Thomson Corporation that specializes in furnishing information and office solutions to lawyers in the United States and Canada. Its major businesses are Thomson West (the publisher of Westlaw), and Carswell. It also markets Elite and ProLaw practice management systems, and the FindLaw free legal web portal. It was formed in the realignment of the Thomson Legal and Regulatory unit in October, 2006.
