From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Thomas Connors a.k.a. Chas was the guitarist for Chorus of Souls throughout their existence. His style was often known for its ability to not "sound" like a guitar, through his use of effect textures, and various extended and prepared guitar techniques. He graduated from UCLA in 1993 with a B.A. in music and went onto form COMAL, an ambient music ensemble which morphed entities from 1994-1997. COMAL included Chorus of Souls bass player Kenny Lefort and The Kronos Quartet Master Sound Engineer, Scott Fraser. Thomas was resident DJ FANCYPANTS at Gallery B12, a noted Hollywood art gallery/speakeasy, on the corner of Hollywood Blvd. & Ivar (currently CINESPACE), that closed in 2000. He composed the score for the independent film The Amazing Omelette ©2000 Important Productions which was featured in the 2005 Dances With Films festival in Santa Monica, CA. Currently (2006) he is an avid sailor with his own 27' sloop, an underground filmmaker/video artist, and a Legal Apprentice at an Intellectual Property Law Firm.
