Thomas Strunz (born April 25, 1968) is a German former football (soccer) player.

Born in Duisburg, he played as a midfielder for VfB Stuttgart and Bayern Munich in Germany's Bundesliga. He was part of the German teams that disappointed at the 1994 FIFA World Cup but won Euro 96. Strunz' wife, Claudia, left him for fellow German international Stefan Effenberg[citation needed].

After retiring he managed VfL Wolfsburg just for nearly on year, where he was fired on December 19, 2005. Together with Coach Holger Fach, who was also fired the same day, he got 2.750.000 Euros for finishing the contract earlier as planned[citation needed].
