Thomas Sewall Adams

Thomas Sewall Adams, (18731933) was an American economist and educator, born in Baltimore, Maryland. He was educated at the Baltimore City College; in 1899, he received a Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University. He was made associate professor of political economy in the University of Wisconsin in 1901 and full professor in 1908. In 1911, he was tax commissioner of Wisconsin.

His published writings include: Taxation in Maryland, (1900); Labor Problems, (with H. L. Sumner, 1905); Mortgage Taxation in Wisconsin and Neighboring States, (1907); Outlines in Economics, (with R. T. Ely, 1908).
