Thomas R. Karl (Born 22 November 1951, Evergreen Park, Illinois) is the director of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s National Climatic Data Center.

Karl is the Director of NCDC and has participated in the IPCC reports. NCDC's webpage says the following:
