Thomas Mignone is a feature film and music video director. Mignone is best known for directing music videos for hard rock and heavy metal artists such as Mudvayne, Slipknot, System Of A Down, Sepultura, Danzig, Megadeth, Superjoint Ritual, Soulfly and others. Mignone directs projects through his film production company DOOM Incorporated. His music video for Mudvayne's song "Dig" won an MTV Award and was the first to feature heavy metal artists in brightly-lit and vibrant, color-saturated images, in sharp contrast to the dark, shadowy videos typical of the genre. His video for Sepultura's "Roots" was filmed in Sao Paolo, Brazil, the hometown of vocalist Max Cavaliera and contrasted the group's intense hard rock performance with strikingly beautiful images of capoiera dancers, timbalada musicians, and other traditional Brazilian scenes. His video for alternative rock artist The Toadies caused controversy when a rough cut of the edit was discovered by the Dallas Police Department, who thought the images depicting a killer dragging a body bag through the woods was authentic.
In 2006, Mignone wrote and directed the feature film "On The Doll" starring actors Josh Janowicz and Brittany Snow. The title refers to the phrase "Show me on the doll where he touched you", which is often asked of children who have been victimized by molestors. Mignone lives and works in Los Angeles, and continues directing feature films and music videos.
