Thomas Lowe

Thomas F. Lowe (1812 – November, 1875) took over as Atlanta's mayor after Jared Whitaker was brought in for the Confederate cause at the start of the American Civil War. As a violin soloist, he was a local favorite and played many recitals in Atlanta and Decatur even during the War. He died in Mount Airy, Georgia and is buried in Oakland Cemetery.
