Thomas Harwood

Thomas Harwood (February 17, 1802 – after 1846) was an early settler of Western Australia.
Thomas was born in England in Hoddlesden in Lancashire.
He married Jane Jeanette Fielding on January 4, 1822 in Blackburn in Lancashire.
Thomas, wife Jane and children Elizabeth and John traveled on the ship the James to Fremantle, Western Australia around 1830.
Thomas petitioned for work July 10, 1832 and was employed as a stone mason through the 1840s.
Although illiterate Thomas was appointed Fremantle police constable and keeper of the standard weights on April 21, 1841.
