Thomas Gansch

Thomas Gansch ( born December 31, 1975 in St. Pölten) is an Austrian classical and big band trumpeter.

He grew up in a musical family:
his father Johann Gansch was a renowned Austrian composer and pedagogue for brass music instruments. He was called "marching king"
His older brother Hans Gansch ( *1953) is trumpet soloist and professor for trumpet at Salzburg Mozarteum, he was principal trumpet player at famous Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra from 1982 - 1996.
Thomas began his studies at Vienna music school at the age of 15.

In 1992 the brass septet Mnozil Brass was founded where he plays 1st trumpet. In 1999 he was invited to Vienna Art Orchestra, a European Jazz Big-Band.
Later he founded his own band Gansch & Roses.
Thomas Gansch performs on a curious looking, self designed trumpet by manufacturer Schagerl from Austria.
