Thomas E. Levy

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Thomas Edward Levy, MD, JD, is a physician, former professor of cardiology, and attorney who has written well-documented books about alternatives in medicine.

Levy lives in Colorado, United States. He obtained his BA at Johns Hopkins University and both studied and taught medicine at the Tulane University School of Medicine.

Some of the therapies he advocates can be categorized as belonging to orthomolecular medicine. Some physicians have long reported that Vitamin C may have uses beyond the prevention of scurvy; Levy has a compiled a book in which he details and describes a huge number of experiments in which Vitamin C was used as a treatment, and assesses how much evidence there is to support its use as a therapy for various ailments. The book is "Curing the Incurable: Vitamin C, Infectious Diseases, and Toxins" (2002).

He was introduced to alternative medicine by Hal Huggins, a dentist best known for advocating - and documenting - an understanding of toxicities associated with dental amalgams that is at odds with the understanding advanced by the American Dental Association. Levy and Huggins have co-authored a book.

Levy has also written positively about the work of Melvin Page, DDS, a St. Petersburg, Florida dentist who reported that sometimes remedying subtle endocrine disequilibria can bring about disproportionate improvements in overall health.
