Unconfirmed information

I've just gone through a list of no less than 25 edits, all of which (excepting the occasional revert from Gwernol) have been unverifiable bulldust. There has only bee none scrap of evidence presented by Rusty5, however it is from a source that is unreliable. (See: Wikipedia:Verifiability)

On Site With Thomas looks to be something that may be released - however, it must be noted that if it is released, it will not be "Thomas and Friends - Season 10". There has been talk for a number of years of a spin-off for the Pack (which was the original intention), and so if it is released it will very likely be a spin-off.

I will continue to revert anything I see as being a false edit on this page.

Gonzerelli 03:49, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

Doesnt make any sense, the sources lokk perfectly rationally true to me! For gods sake that's the hit press release site - I think we can trust that source - the DVD one may just be some direct to video releases that were mentioned before - I think we can rely on these though - the page needs content anyhow Foxearth
In any case, it seems very doubtful, and only available from one source. If it were a reliable release, it would be available from a number of sources.
We've had this discussion before, that the article's integrity cannot be dependent upon weak sources. When something more concrete comes forward, I will quite happily allow it to be added appropriately.
Gonzerelli 11:26, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
I think we should email a HIT official to see if the information can be verified... Foxearth

I have readded the new information recently uncovered - I believe we should include it in the article - HIT have confirmed the new series, characters etc. - however, the Jack and the Pack viseo release is still clutching at straws a bit - so I have added content to suggest that these episodes may not be part of the new series - the article looks good. Please do not revert this info without further explaination, as I said earlier we need word from a HIT official - but for now the info can be used safely... Feel free to express doubts/issues/agreements etc. on my talk page.... Foxearth (logged out due to computer errors)

Past discussion

This page has been subject to a number of minor edit wars. Please find below the guidelines for this page, which should be followed until the season is actually broadcast. These guidelines are in line with Wikipedia's guidelines, as well as the guidelines of WikiProject Thomas.

  • Despite rumours going through various fan sources, there have been no "returns" confirmed for any characters who have been absent for some time. Common rumours involve Duck, Boco and Sir Handel. These rumours have already been acknowledged in the "Notes" section, and does not need further expansion.
  • The only confirmed character is Thomas the Tank Engine, as he is the title character. However, due to the heavy promotion of the "Steam Team" since the start of Season 8, it can be considered likely that the Steam Team will also be a part of this season. The Steam Team consists of: Edward, Henry, Gordon, James, Percy, Toby and Emily. It can also be assumed that The Fat Controller will return, since he is the character who runs the railway and the engines on it, and has even had more episode appearances than Thomas.
  • Having said that, this article needs to have some substance to it in order to be viable. As such, we can't just leave one three-line paragraph and delete all other content. The rumours mentioned above have enough significance, as well as acknowledgement of the reasoning for the (tentative) character list. The character list is also in line with the season 1-9 pages, and can then be edited once further character appearances can be verified.
  • Once OFFICIAL information is released (for example, an episode list which can be verified by multiple sources), then this article may be updated in line with the pages for Seasons 1-9. For reference, I've placed links to these pages below.

If you have any concerns with these guidelines, please feel free to bring them up on this page, or contact me directly. Gonzerelli 14:21, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

Recent Reverts

Hello, I'm user Foxearth, I reverted the page to it's former trivia, and likely confirmed characters to give the page reason to exist - if everything is deleted except for the opening paragraph the page will be useless. I think we should protect this page from vandalism and unregistered users by a block.... let me know of your views User:Foxearth (logged out due to computer errors)

I added More Info

I read on a Thomas forum a fan got to see inside the Thomas studios, and confirmed Sir Handel is coming back. He also confirmed all the steam team and Mighty Mac are coming back, so I added them. Please don't delete them! Thomasfan 9 January 2006 08:35am

That's fair enough, I also heard someone contacted a HIT Entertaiment official who said that Duck, Oliver and Daisy are returning in this season - so I'll add them as well.... 4:41 (australian time zone

Sorry, but these alleged facts, even though they are probably true and I believe you, aren't verifiable. On a lighter note, I used to watch this show as a young child and I cannot believe they're still making new episodes! What channel will it air in the U.S.? EdGl 03:14, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

EdGl is right. Take a moment to think about how this sounds: "I heard through the grapevine that someone called someone who has a desk job for the company that owns the program, but the person with a desk job doesn't actually work on the program, but they told the person who phoned them something and I heard that they said....."
Not the most reliable source in the world, you could say...

Gonzerelli 14:21, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

This article is beyond a joke now!

I think this article ought to be temporarily blocked... leave it as it is for now, for goodness sake - because it's just edited to suit others opinions... no one knows what engines are returning... and judging by the state of the program these days by reemoving essential steam team characters such as Duck, Donlad, Douglas and Oliver and replacing them with boring, politically correct rubbish such as Emily, Arthur, Molly, Neville, and Murdoch - who knows who could be next for the chop? Thomas the Tank Engine is - quite possibly the only character that we know for certain will return... please stop including Sir. Handel, Duck, Douglas etc. in the lineup as the sources aren't particularly genuine.

-- Ideally, the Steam Team and the Fat Controller will be the only ones appearing. Nobody should be posting anything else until it's close to Season 10 airing - whether you read it on a forum or got an e-mail from HiT: Don't post it, as it could be a bundle of lies. Also, don't post things that you've just made up, because it's violation of Wikipedia rules.

- Can people please, please, please stop putting up fake episode lists? It's not even a case of misinformation, the episode titles are so blatantly false. It just wastes your time and everyone else's.

The "Steam Team", initiated in Season 8, consists of Thomas, Edward, Henry, Gordon, James, Percy, Toby and Emily. They have been the focus of stories in Seasons 8 and 9, and this focus is likely to continue. Also, the Fat Controller is the guy who runs the railway, and has been a dominant character since Season 1, so he is also likely to appear.
No other characters can be considered likely to appear, and therefore are only rumoured. I've seen edits of this page which more or less list every single character (including insignificant ones) as either likely or rumoured to appear. This simply cannot be the case.
Rumoured characters are already addressed within a paragraph. As such, I feel the "character list" should be as follows:

Confirmed

  • Thomas

Likely

  • Edward
  • Henry
  • Gordon
  • James
  • Percy
  • Toby
  • Emily
  • The Fat Controller

Gonzerelli 09:01, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

Delete?

I think this article should be deleted until the new series actually comes out. It's pointless. It contains no useful information whatsoever and, thanks to speculative and blatantly false additions, is counterproductive.

That's pretty much what should happen. Wikipedia should not contain speculation, rumors and best guesses. It should only contain sourced, verifiable information. I have removed the speculative information from the article and there's virtually nothing left. Its probably not worth deleting as it will get recreated later, but further rumors should not be added. Gwernol 23:44, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

Again folks, please do not add unconfirmed rumors to the article. Until there are verifiable facts the article cannot be expanded. Gwernol 14:16, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

I give up

I'm letting this article rot away until something concrete comes forward, at which time I'll come back and re-vamp it. I have better things to do with my time than deal with a tedious article that is clutching onto any shred of innuendo it can and running miles with it.

I've removed the WikiProject Thomas tag - again, this will be replaced when concrete information is available, and the page has been revamped as a result. Until then, this page is not fit for WikiProject Thomas.

I fully support any admin who wishes to protect, block or delete this article in the meantime.

Nepali translation of Thomas and Friends Season 10

Nepali translation of Thomas and Friends Season 10 is halfaway complete. This was upon somebody's request to translate that part in Nepali. Thanks for his suggestion. Rajesh 25 June 2006 (UTC)

Page protected

I have semi-protected this page. This means that anonymous and new users cannot edit it. This is because of continued addition of unsourced rumors, speculation and meta-comment. Once further verifiable information is available I'll happily unprotect it and allow that information to be added. If you cannot edit the page and find additional information that you believe should be included, feel free to add it to this talk page. Gwernol 03:52, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

I still think that some mention should remain of the new Jack and the Pack video release - for there is new info released with it - it may not be directly 'Season 10' - but if there is a page featuring video releases (Im largely unfamiliar with the exact pages on TTTE) then it would be more appropriate. A Notes/Trivia section should be included to show rumours of characters returning etc and that they haven't been confirmed or denied by hit officials (now that no anonymous users can besmirch the page, there's no risk of people adding nonsense), and explain the characters likely to put in an appearance - basically what I added before - but you erased Gwernol when you blocked the page calling it: speculation and rumour which is fair enough - but at least it gives readers something interesting to read, and wasn't at all made up on the spot or nonsense... I'll be happy to help you edit the page Foxearth 06:28, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
Sorry but speculation and rumor do not have a place on Wikipedia. One of the founding pillars of this project is that all information here must be verifiable which rumors by definition are not. The Jack and the Pack video release has no connection that I can see with Season 10, so is inappropriate content for this article. I'm not sure where the appropriate place would be. Adding a notes/trivia section with rumors would also be inappropriate as I outlined above. The point of Wikipedia is not to give readers "something interetsing to read" but rather to report the verifiable facts, it is trying to be an encyclopedia, after all. Hopefully the official details of Season 10 will arrive soon and can be added then. Sorry, Gwernol 22:19, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

First Video plus Two other characters

The First Video, On Site with Thomas, will feature the Pack again, and a new engine, Patrick, who thinks he is the most important engine on the Island. There is also info that there will be a new Pack member called Monty. He may be the mstery character in 'Kelly's Windy Day':

http://www.anchorbayentertainment.com/index.asp?p=CatalogDetail&SKU=DV14744&PriCatID=1

The problem is, there's no evidence the episodes noted in this video are part of Season 10. They may be, but we don't know. Therefore claiming information from this site is about Season 10 is simply wrong. Gwernol 22:07, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

Sorry but I can't see any info related to a character named Monty, can you Gweernol? I sincerly believe this is a false rumour - that wasn't planned out with any kind of depth. Foxearth (logged out)

Agreed, I've seen no reliable sources for a character called Monty. Nor any reliable sources to show that the "On Site with Thomas" DVD contains episodes of Season 10. None of it can be used in the article as it stands. Now, as we get closer to the season launch we may learn more that will allow some of this to be added, but until we have verifiable sources we can't add what amounts to rumors to the article. Gwernol 12:38, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

But, If these aren't Season 10, then what Season are they? These weren't season 9, and they will not realese Season 11 before 10. But Patrick is confirmed, Monty may not. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.134.108.9 (talk • contribs) .

That may be a straight-to-video release of epiodes that are not in any season. Lots of companies do this to increase revenues. Where is Patrick confirmed? Gwernol 22:28, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

Patrick is a character confirmed in the blurb. This Monty character has been invented by the anonymous user. Would it be worth sending hit an email, trying to get them to confirm whether the Jack in the Pack stories are part of series ten or not? I do believe you are right Gwernol, it must be a direct to video release probably just old episodes that they never used in previous seasons due to limitations and therefore have recycled them. We should mention this release on the main page blurb, something like this although thought to be completely forgotten, Jack and his friends will return in the On Site with Thomas video (Insert Source) it is currently unknown whether this is a direct-to-video release or part of an upcoming season - somehow we need to bringit into the main page in some context... see what you think Foxearth (logged out)

Found this at HIT Digital Pressroom, on a Thomas Timeline (see left hand side, click Thomas/Press Releases): 2006: Train enthusiasts of all ages are invited to Come Ride The Rails in 2006 with a new live tour, Day Out With Thomas(TM) 2006: Come Ride the Rails Tour, new episodes on PBS KIDS(R), and new direct-to-video releases. Thomas & Friends is 60 years young and just started on its journey

Notice the use of the phrase: direct-to-video releases? I believe this secures that the Jack and the Pack stories are video only releses... Foxearth 02:53, 11 July 2006 (UTC)

About the Episode Arrangement...

14 episodes doesn't mean only 14 episodes in general. When HIT said 14 episodes, they meant 14 new 30-minute packs, which means, this season has 28 episodes, not 14. I wish that people would stop going off just because THEY think that it is only going to have 14 episodes instead of 26. It's really obvious it's going to have 28.

If you're so certain then proove it! Don't speculate Foxearth 09:30, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
That's exactly the problem with this article - not a whole lot can be proven at all. The limited information which comes from the only verifiable source is even a bit doubtful. Through no fault of Wikipedians, who are putting things up thinking it's the truth.
I guess noone can possibly know the exact arrangements until the episodes are scheduled and broadcast. Until then, Wikipedia is not a crystal ball. Gonzerelli 19:19, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
The language of the press release the information comes from is rather ambiguous. We can't be certain whether they mean there will be fourteen 30 minute episodes or fourteen 7 minute episodes this season until all of the titles of the 30 minute episodes are released. If there are more than seven, there will obviously be more than fourteen new 7 minute episodes this season. Seems the most logical thing to do, no? DayTripping! 20:12, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
What I'm saying is that if the season has 14 episodes, how are they going to introduce our four newbies? Huh? How? Cram them in, or just have one episode to them and have the other 10 episodes to Thomas?
Has there been anything to say that 14 episodes will be 'it'? There may well be additional episodes announced before the season shows on TV. However, 14 is the number we know, and sure it can be taken different ways, but speculating that it means 14 "2-episode blocks" has no place here at the moment. Thehalford 23:28, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

I was right, its not gonna have 14 episodes! the 7th and 8th theme names have been revealed! If there's only seven, than that's 14. If there's 8, that's 16! I WAS RIGHT! WOOO! GO ME! BigThomasFan

So how exactly are you going to prove this? You are speculating, and trying desperately to find away of convincing people that there are going to be more episodes than evidenc suggests. Except the evidence and stop trying to act as though this is a competition. Even in the slightest, merest, minimal possibility that you are right - so what? Do you expect us to worship you or something. Honestly... Foxearth
That's not what i'm doing. I hate you people. I'm leaving! Get rid of vandalism yourselves!

Well you've got to admit it looks pretty bad if you can't back up these allegations. No need to overreact so badly. Foxearth

Guess what! Go to www.opb.com, search Thomas & Friends, scroll all the way to the bottom of the page, and the name of the 8th "2-episode-pack" theme has been revealed! That proves my point that Season 10 doesn't have 14 episodes! HA! IN YOUR FACE!

That is not a real link. You need to add a link to this information on this page or we cannot take your word for it. Foxearth

Sorry, I forgot to put the .org. Try typing the link like this: www.opb.org. Now my point is proved.

Speculation

Hello, would it be worth creating a new sub-section in the article, containing miscellanious bits of speculation (the connections to the Jack and the Pack release, fabled returns of characters, etc.) It's just a thought, I can understand if it may seem a little unneccessary... Foxearth

Simply put, no. Wiki is not a crystal ball, and all this speculation is not encylopedic. All that section would add is more useless edits. Unnecessary addition. Thehalford 13:19, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
I agree with Thehalford. Information in articles must be verifiable. This is one of the five core policies of Wikipedia. By definition, speculation and rumor are not verifiable. Therefore they cannot be included in this or any other article. Sorry, Gwernol 13:50, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

Don't worry, it was just a spur of the moment idea Foxearth 00:47, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

Buster the Steamroller

All over I've heard about a Buster the Steamroller in a Target preview. We must asume that Buster is Season 10. And On Site with Thomas has everything the same as Season 9 and 8, so that must meen it's Season 10! (On site with Thomas)

Please provide reliable sources to back this up. "I've heard" and "we must assume" are never good enough reasons to include information on any Wikipedia article. Please read the verifiability policy. Thanks, Gwernol 22:31, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

New Logo

I tried to put this in the HIT Entertainment discussion page, but no one has gone there so I decided to try and put this in Thomas and Friends (since it is HIT Material).

It appears that HIT now has a new logo; instead of the word HIT in big blue letters (the logo on HIT's wikipedia page), the logo has been changed to a picture of a red toybox showing 3 out of 4 sides, with the letters H, I, and T on the three sides. According to HIT's website, the box contains HIT's "toys" (shows), such as Barney, Thomas and Friends, and Bob the Builder. Could we please put this one up? The old logo has been out of date for almost a month now.Ohyeh 13:48, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

On Site with Thomas

It appears that the new characters that feature in the new "On Site with Thomas" release have been revealed, and images of each are on the net. However, I do not know if the stories are part of Series 10, and it's likely that it is just a direct-to-video spin-off, similar to Calling All Engines! was last year.

Now, I'm not saying that we should add the characters to this or any page, at least, until the video gets a proper release (in about a week), but here is the proof that the characters do exist!

Skarloey 12:59, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

Where did you find these photos? Foxearth 00:47, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

I have the On Site with Thomas DVD. If you ask me, I will provide you with all the notes, trivia, and synopses. BigThomasFan 6:50 PM, August 11 2006

What and get called dumb when I remove them because they are completely unconnected with Season 10? Foxearth 01:41, 12 August 2006 (UTC)

The images have been posted on Sodor Island Forums by various members, mainly from videos of the episodes "On Site with Thomas" and "A Visit from Thomas" which someone has uploaded onto YouTube. (just search for "On Site with Thomas" to find them). Skarloey 21:57, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

Wow, people really are missing the point here completely.
On Site With Thomas is NOT verifiably attached to Season 10.
Pretty simple I would have thought.
Gonzerelli 11:45, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

Then where does it go then? Hmmmm? These are real episodes darnett, and where do they go? And are you people just going to assume that Anchor Bay broke into the studio and filmed their own episodes with some guy who sounds like Michael Brandon narrating it and then putting all the footage together in their own video? Huh? BigThomasFan

No, obviously they are an official release so they can go on Wikipedia. But they cannot go in the Thomas and Friends - Season 10 unless we have a reliable source to confirm they are a part of Season 10. It would be reasonable to create a new article called (something like) On Site with Thomas which is about the video release. See the Calling All Engines article for an example. Then if it turns out they are part os Season 10, we can merge the two articles. Gwernol 22:54, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

Tag?

Does anyone think there should there be a tag on this page, like this? {{Future television}} Starkiller 14:25, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

EXCELLENT. I had searched for such a tag (obviously not hard enough lol) bit not come up with one.
I've put it straight into the article. :)
Many thanks, Gonzerelli 17:17, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

Confirmed Info!!!

I was at Wal-Mart the other day in the video section, and I found out this: the pre-release of Season 10 of Thomas and Friends is out! I do not lie; the video is called On Site with Thomas, and it includes a little Jack the Front Loader toy.

The video has six episodes: A Visit For Thomas, Jack Owns Up, On Site with Thomas, Percy's Windy Tale, Kelly's Windy Day, and A Happy Day for Percy. The Pack has definitely returned, and the American Version includes a narrating change as well; Michael Brandon (narrator of seasons 7, 8, 9 and the 2005 rebroadcast of Season 6) has been replaced with longtime Thomas and Friends stalwart George Carlin, the original American narrator of Seasons 1-4. I definitely have proof, as I have held the DVD.Ohyeh 23:55, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

If you had bothered to read earlier discussions in the talk page, than you'd realize by now that the episodes are unconnected with Season 10, which is debuting in September. Michael Brandon does narrate the episodes, please see: "On Site with Thomas" for more information. Foxearth (logged out)
Oh no; the DVD cover definitely says STORYTELLER: George Carlin. I'm sure of it!Ohyeh 15:04, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

You haven't actually got the DVD yourself? It's a bit of a long shot just guessing like that, please discuss this on the relevant talk page though, it's not a related discussion if it's unconnected with Season 10! Foxearth (logged out)

When the back says STORYTELLER: GEORGE CARLIN, that was a printing error. Michael Brandon narrates it. Buy it and watch it.

Character Info!

On TV.com forums it has been noted on more than 1 occasion that HiT has confirmed the return of Sir Handel! In fact, the first Narrow Gauge episode has Sir Handel as the main star. Also, Fearless Freddie is a Narrow Gauge engine!

Sorry, but a post on a forum is not a reliable source. Please read the guideline. Thanks, Gwernol 00:41, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
However, this evidence was originally found from at least 3 sites that have summaries for the S10 episodes. Sir Handel's back, as I even asked HiT about it; they said yes, but we probably should wait just a little longer...Rusty5 01:45, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

Well, can we get any verifiable information from these 3 sites that you have indicated, Rusty5? Foxearth

Sure! Here's some summaries for the first few programs: http://www.kued.org/whatson/series.cgi?nola1=THOF&source=az. Here's another schedule, just without the summary for 'Special Days': http://www.aptv.org/Schedule/nolaschedule.asp?NOLA1=THOFRusty5 11:44, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

Well, I believe this information is verifiable. The channels will be airing these episodes after all, and these seem like official summaries. I've added the sources, and certain information to the main page, but please discuss this further if anybody objects to it for whatever reason. Foxearth 12:45, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

My gut feeling on this is to follow the advice that you, yourself, were given. And wait. Wait until it is seen with your own two eyes. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a "you read it here first" tabloid. Gonzerelli 13:09, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

Here is another page, with more summaries from the season: http://www.gpb.org/public/tv/schedule.jsp?f=program&d=THOF This also confirms Skarloey, Rheneas, Rusty, & Spencer's returns.

I'm sory but there is no mention of Spencer in these summaries. I'm removing him until you can back this up with evidence. Foxearth

Oops. Well, here's a link to another summary. This one confirms Edward & Spencer: http://www.klrn.org/Programming/ViewProgram.aspx?ProgramID=138037Rusty5 23:50, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

Some one on tv.com's forum appears to have comfirmed Molly and George appear in season 10. [Proof].

And on youtube.com whach A smooth ride and then read the comments. Someone else have comfiremed Bill and Ben to appear in season 10. [Proof]

I wouldn't consider a comment on Youtube and a forum post being official confirmations. I'd say wait until we see these episode for ourselves. Rusty5 11:44, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

But these people have seen the episodes they said its true.

Have you seen the episodes yourself? And not just excerpts on YouTube, the actual broadcast episodes?
If the answer is no, then it is not verifiable. Simple as that.
Gonzerelli 21:45, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

So you think its lying. well they do appear i am not lying.

I'm not saying you're lying. There is a huge difference between lying and verifiability. Before accusing me of abusing you, read both those pages I've linked to, and understand why verifiable information is important for an encyclopedia like this. Gonzerelli 03:38, 21 September 2006 (UTC)

And where is Salty from the characters list? He is comfiremed.

Start?

When does the 10th season premiere, i.e. the official broadcast/airing on television? Is it September 2nd... is anybody planning to watch it so that we can gather concrete information for this article? Foxearth (logged out)

I'm getting it on September 3rd.

It has already aired in one part of America, and is airing tomorrow morning for New York, or so I gather. Reports are from someone (a reliable source) who has seen the first episode is that there are just two 7-minute stories now, with more interactive segments and a song sandwiched in between them. The titles of these two new stories are - "Follow that Flour" and "A Smooth Ride", the second of which features Sir Handel, and introduces the Thin Controller's wife. No doubt we'll have proof from someone soon (most likely photos of their TVs, but still proof). Skarloey 23:32, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

How did you get ahold of this information? Was this a post on the SIF... and is there any chance of any synopsis' etc for us to add onto the page? Foxearth (logged out)

Prototypes of the New Characters

The characters are as follows:

  • Fearless Freddie - A silver narrow-gauge engine who can go fast.
  • Rosie - A new purple tank engine who idolizes Thomas.
  • Rocky - A maroon breakdown crane who is friends with Edward.
  • Jeremy - A small jet plane who shows a view of himself, which concerns Thomas.

Yeah, we kinda knew that a while ago mate! Foxearth

Fearless Freddie is based on Russel from the WHR. Rosie I think is a German design.Rusty5 11:06, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

I'm fairly sure Rosie is a USA Class 0-6-0 dock tank. Here are two photos of one; it looks almost identical save for the buffers and the colour.

Anymore episodes?

Have anymore episodes aired anywhere else across the states yet? Foxearth (logged off)

There are a couple called Percy and the Carnival and Thomas and the Jet Plane that have aired on Treehouse. Also, I just wanted to bring to someone's attention that the seasons and the dates they aired in have been switched around (with Season 7 being in 2004 instead of Season 8, Season 8 being broadcast in 2005, and so on and soforth). I do believe this is vandalism.209.226.138.182 14:12, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

"Percy & The Carnival" and "Thomas & The Jet Plane" seem to be true. After all, the new two stories are about Jeremy boasting to Thomas and Percy wanting to help at a carnival. But before being posted, i say we wait until a relevant source confirms this. What we can't have is the official summaries from those sites copied & pasted onto the page. The summaries I wrote for "Follow That Flour" & "A Smooth Ride" are completely original. Rusty5 21:19, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

Summaries

I'm happy that "Thomas & The Jet Plane" & "Percy & The Carnival" have summaries now, but the summaries seemed to be copied from the official sites! I've rewritten them, but if you can change anything to make it better, please do. We can't have a copyright infringement on this page! It's been enough trouble, already! Rusty5 11:05, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

Aha! There are a lot (a lot!!!) of bangs (!!!!!) in the summaries!! It would be good!!, if every sentence!!, did not end in a bang!! (!!!)
 :p EdJogg 11:53, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

Now the next two episodes ("The Green Controller" & "Duncan Drops A Clanger") also have copied summaries (bang free, though). Again, try writing original summaries, please. Rusty5 21:02, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

I note that you have gradually reverted the punctuation corrections I made. I ought to re-apply them, but I really can't be bothered. Normally you would precede a list with a colon (such as 'Featuring: x, y, z'), and I think it is also Wiki style policy that short bullet points like these should not have full-stops, or any other punctation at the end. (You only need a full-stop at the end of a sentence, and these are not sentences.) I'm only watching the summaries of the dire stories on this page to make sure I don't accidentally revert Season 10-related changes elsewhere - there has been so much vandalism to the Thomas/Railway Series pages over the past few months. EdJogg 22:45, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

I only did that because the other seasons aren't listed like that. They are written in a similar way as these ones were originally. But if you like them having colons & not punctuations, I apologize for this.

Rocky

I've noticed that Rocky's been placed under 'new characters', but there is also a section for new rolling stock now. Shouldn't Rocky be there, as he's technically a rolling stock character, or should I leave him where he is?

Yet to be broadcast (?) episodes

Hi all. The way this article usually works, all these episodes titled 'TBA' will shortly be deleted as 'speculative'/'not yet broadcast'. May I request that the offending text is instead just commented-out? It is all formatted correctly, and will be needed eventually (assuming that these dreadful plots reflect the stories that will be broadcast!)

Incidentally, anyone had official confirmation of Duck's status w.r.t. this series? There has been a lot of fan speculation about him recently.

EdJogg 12:01, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

Quelle surprise! all editing work 'lost', as predicted. Since the 'TBA' episodes have presumably been sourced from the HiT website, they are likely to be accurate, even if currently 'speculative' and subject to copyright. On that basis I have re-instated them, but commented-out, so that the work on the structure and all the character links (which will be needed) may be restored as and when the episodes are aired, and the summary text re-written.

Episode Guides

I have seen many users add the presence of the 'Culdee Fell Mountain' in some episodes, is this truthful or just false information? How much of the added information is exactly true at all, could some one who has seen the episodes actually comment upon this? Thanks Foxearth (logged off)

It's true! Culdee Fell Mountain was featured in A Smooth Ride, & it was where Sir Handel was taking the Percivals. If you don't believe me, the episode's on Youtube now. Rusty5 16:13, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
Just a question, is anyone actually going to bother updating the episode guide? The next two Series 10 episodes ("It's Good to be Gordon" and "Seeing the Sights") premiered in America last weekend, but still nobody has put entries for them into the guide.
Have you seen them yourself? Then put summaries up yourself. Pretty straightforward. Gonzerelli 12:09, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
I haven't seen the episodes yet, and because I'm not a registered user I couldn't put up summaries myself anyway. And I'm sorry to have to say this, but I really do wish you would be a bit more polite, even if you are in charge of WikiProject Thomas.
I'm sure Gonzerelli will be along shortly to answer for himself, but in the meantime I'd like to offer an olive branch on behalf of the WP:THOMAS members.
If you read through the drivel on this page, and you also have a look at the edit history of the article itself, you will see how much unsubstantiated guff is being added and has to be removed again. Most of this is added by unregistered Thomas fans (hence the block on unregistered users - it's nothing personal!) and keeping the article even vaguely encyclopedic against this 'vandalism' can be dispiriting, and wastes time otherwise available for productive editing.
Read again some of the questions on this page, and that may give a clue why a WP:THOMAS member would give such an abrupt answer to a question that was, to be fair, worded in a rather negative way.
Please can I encourage you to register. Your (constructive) edits will be welcome, and you no longer run the risk of being mis-identified as a vandal!

Help with latest episodes

Could someone who has seen the latest episodes: "It's Good to be Gordon" and "Seeing the Sights" please help out to try and fill in the gaps with relevant information regarding these episodes, as I have only used information that I've obtained from the Sodor Forums website, and not seen the episodes myself. Foxearth 03:19, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

I'll be seeing the package containing these two this Sunday. I normally rewrite summaries in my own words after I see them for myself. Just leave it to me, Foxearth. ;) Rusty5 11:42, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
Excellent. Thanks R5 :) Gonzerelli 18:14, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

Well, the summaries for episodes 9-10 have original summaries. I also added the two most recent episodes ("Big Strong Henry" and "Sticky Toffee Thomas") Rusty5 18:17, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
