This is Blythe is a photo book by Gina Garan feuturing the doll Blythe in various locations.
It started in 1997 when a friend of Gina's showed her Blythe saying it looked like her. It so happened that Gina was given a camera and wanted to try and test it so she used Blythe as her model. Soon after she started carrying a Blythe everywhere. Gina is a video and TV producer so she ended up with many photos of Blythe all around the world. Gina showed her photos to Junko Wong which lead to Blythe being the model for the Christmas 2000 Parco ad campaign. Chronicle Books published This is Blythe in the summer of that year. The next summer the first Neo Blythes made by CWC and Takara went up for sale and were a smash being sold out in less than an hour.
