"This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)" is a song performed by Natalie Cole and composed by Chuck Jackson and Marvin Yancy. It was Natalie Cole's debut single in 1975 and one of her biggest hits, becoming a #1 R&B and #6 Pop smash in the U.S., reaching the U.K. Top 40, and winning Cole a Grammy for best female R&B vocal performance, a category that had previously been dominated by Aretha Franklin. It is frequently used in movie trailers for romantic comedies, and is an airplay favorite today across multiple radio formats, including oldies, smooth jazz, urban AC, and adult contemporary.
