Thiruneermalai is a panchayat town in Kancheepuram district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is a hill, and the temple on that hill, outside the Indian city of Chennai. It is chiefly known for its extensive use in filming, and also for being the most favoured temple for eloping couples to get married.

Thiruneermalai has an average literacy rate of 79%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 84%, and female literacy is 74%.
