Fr.Thiruchchelvam Nihal Jim Brown (1972 -2006) was a Roman Catholic parish priest who was active helping his parishners during the bombing of his church during the Allaipiddy massacres in northern Sri Lanka. He along with Mr. Wenceslaus Vinces Vimalathas have gone missing since August 20, 2006. According to AHRC report they were last seen at a Sri Lankan Navy checkpoint situated at the entrance to Allaipiddy in the Jaffna peninsula, Sri Lanka. [1].

According to the report a complaint was lodged with Kayts police as well as the Human Rights Commission regarding their disappearance but there has been no serious action by the government authorities to locate their whereabouts so far. Meanwhile, it is reported that Fr. Jim Brown had been allegedly accused of helping the rebel group Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) to dig bunkers by the Sri Lankan Navy commanding officer of Allaipiddy before the incident. He is presumed dead. [2] [3].
