Thirrin Freer Strong-in-the-Arm Lindenshield, Wildcat of the North, is the protagonist of the The Icemark Chronicles, a series of books written by first-time author Stuart Hill.
[edit] Background
Thirrin Freer Strong-In-The-Arm Lindenshield is a fourteen year old girl. Her father, Redrought was king of Icemark for 21 years. Her mother was the the Basilea (Leader) of the Hypolitan Tribe, a group of people who live in the Icemark. She was brought up by her father and was schooled in the palace of the Icemark by Maggiore, a southern Scholer who tries to teach Thirrin subjects such as history and maths. However, Thirrin is generally uninterested in such mundane matters, and she yearns to be taught how to wield weapons and to ride horses. She gets her wish and her interest in academic subjects plummets even further, with her attention only being held by lessons on famous wars and the tactics used.
[edit] Personality
Thirrin can be somewhat of a Sociopath. Stuart Hill himself, even says '...she nearly forgot how people feel', of her role in the first book. Her strong personality traits are her stubborness and her refusal to accept defeat. She sometimes allows her feelings of the Polyptian Empire and her father's death to rise to the surface, making her reckless and hot-headed.
