Third world slabs
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Third World Slabs are coins encased in the plastic of non-reputable, often amateur or even scam level grading services.
These coins are seen to be as bad, or worse, than raw coins by collectors, but some cherrypicking these slabs for undervalued coins as coins in these slabs sell for less than those in Big Three slabs (PCGS, NGC, ANACS).
[edit] ACG
Considered the worst of all grading services by the [rec.collecting.coins] newsgroup, ACG was a grading company with many coins on EBay at one time.
The company graded coins that weren't even Uncirculated as MS-70 and was responsible for many sour deals that were virtually cons.
