Thierry Graduate School of Leadership

The Thierry Graduate School of Leadership (THIERRY) is an autonomous, private, and international university-level institution of specialised higher education, based in Belgium, Europe. The Graduate School offers Master's and PhD degree-programmes in the field of leadership and mastery of change. In recent years THIERRY emerged as a top leadership school in the world.

[edit] Educational Approach
THIERRY has adopted an interdisciplinary concept of leadership, and in educating leaders. The School is therefore not part of a business school or school of public administration, nor is it a unit operating within another field, discipline, or faculty of (post)graduate education. The key elements highlighting the THIERRY approach are student-centredness, effective leading-in-action, and esprit de corps, aligned with the Graduate School's mission and code of conduct.
[edit] Programmes and Learning Modes
The programme-curricula are offered either in-classroom, or in online-based (internet) distance learning, or in a blended learning (hybrid) mode. In the Masters programmes there are three main areas of learning: leadership in (business) corporations, or in public organisations; leadership development and education; and environmental leadership (environmental science and leadership). In the Ph.D. there are more than fifteen areas of specialisation connecting with the many applications of leadership and mastery of change in a variety of fields and environments. The language of instruction in all programmes is English. The School also offers a special and personalized chief executive leadership curriculum called the Coryphaeus (Coryphe), aimed at top-level leaders of public and private organizations.

In 2002 THIERRY implemented an entirely new online and e-coaching based masters programme in leadership. It was the first one ever to be designed and offered by an educational institution based in the European Union. The online version of the environmental leadership specialisation was the first one offered anywhere in the world. The doctorate (Ph.D.) programme is also of world-class level and range; its innovative framework follows a learning and teaching mode that preludes the educational modes that will typify our society in the next decades.
[edit] Summer and Outdoor Programmes
A two-week intensive Summer residential seminar-program, welcoming participants from around the world, is held each year near Brussels (during the month of July). The Graduate School also has an outdoor education academy as a small-scale campus environment; it is located near the city of Durbuy in the Belgian Ardennes.
