Thick as an Ed is the ninth episode of the Ed Edd n Eddy Season 4. It first aired on January 30, 2004.
[edit] Synopsis
Ed is woken up by Sarah, who reminds him that he said he'd walk Sarah around the Cul-De-Sac to Jimmy's house. Ed gets out of bed, but he falls asleep again outside after trying to tie his left shoe. He is woken up again (from a sing-song dream) by Eddy, who has a new scam. Eddy is going to hold a "Triple E Frog Jumping Derby", where the contestant who catches the most frogs wins a tiny pair of mittens (with an entrance fee). Ed gets himself tied up, and Double-D tries to untie him, but Ed smells horrible. It is revealed that Ed kept a cheese chunk called "Sheldon" in his pocket for 57 days.
At the lake, Eddy reminds Ed that he is the frog rangler. While Double-D studies his map, Ed pushes him, which makes him smell Ed's cheese. Double-D argues with Ed, that his hat smells and should take it off, Ed agrees if Double-D gives him his hat. The two start argueing again, to be stopped by Eddy, who still wants to get some frogs for his derby. Double-D does not agree to work unless Ed removes his jacket. Eddy tricks Ed by telling him to wear a disguise. Meanwhile, Double-D is working on getting the cheese out of Ed's pocket and into a jar. He fails when Ed opens the jar, thinking that it would spoil. Eddy becomes angry, but can't catch Ed, and falls in the water. He asks for Ed's jacket, but Ed has a (mold infested) towel. Eddy's new plan is that Ed's Jacket would be used as a flag for a Zombie country. The cheese chunk falls out of Ed's pocket. Eddy then becomes SO angry, that he grabs Ed's cheese and throws it in the lake. Ed is very upset until he remembers "Angus" his fish skeleton living under his shirt as a necklace.
[edit] Trivia
- Nazz, Jimmy, Kevin, Rolf, Johnny, and Plank do not appear in this episode.
- When Double-D pulls their wagon, he is wearing goggles, yet there are still three goggles in the wagon.
- This is the second time Ed has asked for Double D's hat. The first time he asked for it was in "Is There an Ed in the House?"
- The episode title is clearly a parody of "Thick as a Brick" by British rock band Jethro Tull
