Thiamine pyrophosphate is a thiamine derivative which is cleaved by thiamine pyrophosphatase.
TPP is a coenzyme to many enzymes, such as: pyruvate dehydrogenase complex, alpha-ketoglutarate dehydrogenase complex, branched-chain amino acid dehydrogenase complex and transketolase.
