This is an awesome show. Daniel Cook is a favourite at our house!

They ought to air the 30-minute episodes on Disney Channel (I'm American). 71.111.209.99 02:22, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] This is Emily Yeung

Is This is Daniel Cook going to be replaced by This is Emily Yeung, or will the two shows run alongside each other? I guess I should have seen a spinoff coming; Daniel Cook is probably at least seven now (he was born in 1999), so perhaps he's gone on to something more advanced.Ohyeh 23:00, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

  • Daniel's got a new show, I Dare You (And in development: Dino Dan), so we'll only have one active 'This is...' host at a time, it appears. Radagast 22:59, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Daniel Cook

Boy, do I dislike Daniel Cook. He doesn't appreciate any of these things are done for him, the spoiled brat, and he doesn't understand anything. Let me give a quote sequence:

"Alright, Daniel, it's time to choose a drawing. Which one of these drawings do you think speaks to you the most? Which one makes you feel something?"

"Well, the one that really talks to me is the SSnake, because he goes 'ssss' all day long."

.

"Alright, Daniel, now we're going to learn to dance with a partner."

Daniel closes his eyes and turns around to the light-board.

"I AM HYPNOTIZED..."

"Yes, well, Daniel-"

"ALL HAIL THE LIGHTS!"

.

He makes me writhe in pain when watching him.

A little reminder to whoever wrote the above comment; please sign your comments with four tildes (~). Why should you be bad-mouthing Daniel Cook? He's just a six-year-old kid; did you expect him to be as good as the guys from CBC and CTV? I agree, his behaviour could use a slice of humble pie every now and then, but it doesn't mean you have to call him a brat. If Daniel Cook was a brat, didn't appreciate all the things done for him, and did't understand anything, there's not a chance the top dogs at TVO would have given him a show! And lastly, about the first qoute up above, suppose Daniel didn't know about that whole "inaminate objects speaking to you" kind of stuff. Perhaps he thought it was some kind of activity (like "which of these things can talk: building, car, people). And as for the second quote, perhaps he was just getting a little bit pressured on during a filming session, and just wanted to be toungue-in-cheek for a bit. I've seen TV anchors for CTV being goofy and laughing about things that weren't important, like what Daniel was doing in the qoute above. Aaaaaaaaanyways, don't be too hard on poor old Daniel. He's only been in show biz for a couple of years, which is quite remarkable for getting to interview all of these people. And starting at five years old is pretty cool too. It's a just a show where a six-year-old is making conversation, commuticating with and learning things with regular adults. Lastly, what would happen when Daniel Cook gets a bit older, goes onto Wikipedia, and finds your comment in the discussion section? If that happened to me, it would be quite upsetting.Ohyeh 13:55, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
Actually, I'll go so far as to say that the kid portrayed on TV behaves exceptionally well for a six year old boy. If he behaved any better, it'd be unhealthy. I am aware that in this creche-raised day-care kid authoritarian school society, quiet, grateful, passive kids are considered ideal, but that's a bunch of crack-smoking nonsense. What's healthy for a young boy is assertiveness, curiosity, an eagerness to say what he observes rather than censor it with regard to taboos and sensibilities of those around him...and he has all of those traits only in moderation, at most. He is precocious, active, creative kid. I shudder to imagine the passive gratitude and obedience of the anonymous author's dreams. --Kaz 21:55, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Jays Pitcher

In the episode This is Daniel Cook Playing Baseball, Daniel gets pitching lessons from a Toronto Blue Jays pitcher. I wasn't really paying attention, so what pitcher meets Daniel?Ohyeh 01:53, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

The Doc of course, Roy Halladay. I added his name to the list of notable guests.

-The little boy could probably give 90% of Blue Jays pitchers pitching lessons. 24.222.211.154 19:57, 31 August 2006 (UTC)MD

[edit] Is this vandalism?

There are a couple of episodes here called This is Daniel Cook at a Funeral and This is Daniel Cook putting his Dog to Sleep. I don't know for sure, but I have suspicions that this is vandalism and that the episodes are fake. I'm thinking this is vandalism because This is Daniel Cook is a preschooler show; why would you want to air something as personal and as private as a funeral or killing your dog, all done with a six-year-old kid? Could someone please do some investigating (I have a little hint it's the guy with the comment called Daniel Cook that possibly added these episodes).Ohyeh 01:54, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

  • Yes. The entire edit was vandalism. I have reverted it. --Targetter (Lock On) 01:58, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
    • And no, the vandalism was done by 24.36.129.59, not by anyone on this talk page. --Targetter (Lock On) 05:47, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
      • and now MORE vandalism *sigh* :(--Dustyjo 03:24, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
        • all fixed :P--Dustyjo 03:26, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Change the tense

I'd like to make a suggestion that this article be put into past tense; the show has pretty much died off, as Daniel, who is now older is starting a couple of new shows called Dino Dan and I Dare You.Ohyeh 16:48, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

In that case, I'd propose Daniel gets his own article. Daniel Cook (television personality). Elle Bee 22:00, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
