[edit] Image uploading problem?

Is it just my computer, or are all recent uploads not showing up correctly? See my contribution history for the problems I'm having. --J. J. 19:21, 4 April 2006 (UTC)

Here: Wikipedia:Computer_help_desk#New_cases? I think I'll wait for the problem to work itself out. Figures, this is the first time I've done an image upload, too! --J. J. 19:34, 4 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Building-stub

Hi - It's good that you've been sorting stubs, but it would be better still if you used existing ones instead of making new ones. New stubs templates and categories should be proposed a week before they;'re created at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals. If you had done that with Building-stub, we'd have told you that it's identical to {{Struct-stub}}, which has been used for a year or more (actually, some of the stubs you maked should have had subtypes of it like Italy-struct-stub or Asia-struct-stub). If you're interested in sorting stubs, then the WikiProject would be very pleased to welcome you on board... Grutness...wha? 04:52, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Template:Average helpme

{{helpme}} is really only to be meant to be used on your own talk page. But anyway, what are you trying to do with Template:Average?--Commander Keane 23:38, 18 April 2006 (UTC)

Your userpage looks fine to me.--Commander Keane 18:41, 19 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] help

They are logical operators. "expression 1" AND "expression 2" check if the two expressions are true. If they are both true the answer is "true" (i.e. 1), if any (or both) are false the answer is "false" (i.e. 0). If you need some explanation about the mathematical properties of logical operators look at boolean logic. -- J_B

Can you give me more please?

m:ParserFunctions. Or try a desk, eg Help, Reference or Pump--Commander Keane 13:30, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

Hi The editor1! I have come in response to your {{helpme}} message.

The monobook.css stylesheet is used automatically once you have created it. If you choose the "view source" option in your Web browser when looking at any Wikipedia page you will see a line similar to this:

@import "/w/index.php?title=User:The_editor1/monobook.css&action=raw&ctype=text/css";

which is the instruction to load your user-defined stylesheet.

If you're not seeing the effects of your custom monobook.css, try to bypass your browser cache and reload the page. For Firefox, hold down Shift while clicking Reload (or press Ctrl-Shift-R); for IE, press Ctrl-F5, and for Opera, press F5. Hope that will force your browser to retrieve the monobook.css. :-) Kimchi.sg 19:04, 4 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Help category

Please see my explanations in my the edit summaries in the history of Category:Wikipedians looking for help for why the parameter info is not on.--Commander Keane 13:37, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] HHGttG phrases

I noticed you suggested Notable phrases from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy should be moved to Wikiquote. I don't see why. For one, hardly anything on the page directly quotes anything from the source material; Wikiquote is a place for direct quotations. Instead, the page discusses the impact that a few phrases has had on culture (albeit primarily geek culture), pointing out phrases that are in common usage outside the context of the original material. - furrykef (Talk at me) 19:04, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Request for edit summary

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labelled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

When you leave the edit summary blank, some of your edits could be mistaken for vandalism and may be reverted, so please always briefly summarize your edits, especially when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you.

[edit] Your spoken version of the ice cube article

You've listed the accent as American, and apparently are an American, but the file itself sounds as if it was spoken with a British accent. Is there any particular reason for this? CameoAppearance 19:43, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for noticing. Sometimes I'll find myself talking–unconsciously–with a slight British accent. If you want, I can redo the file, and try to change the accent; or, I could simply change the accent space from "American" to "American/British". --The Editor1111 10:47, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
Changing the accent space makes more sense, in my opinion. CameoAppearance
Will do. Thanks! The Editor1111 21:59, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

Could you do the same for your other two spoken articles? Your spoken Fork article sounds quite British to me. --Wizardman 23:16, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

Done --The Editor1111 13:15, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Building.png

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Building.png. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Note that any unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Jtalledo (talk) 23:40, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

Go Ahead, Delete it. It was for a building stub that was deleted, and by the way, it was created using the webdings font--The Editor1111 21:08, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

I am wondering, are you between the ages of 10-12? If so you are eligable for WikiRally Preteen, and unofficial fork of the Wikipedia Youth Foundation. User:Wizkid357/Wiki Preteen.
