Your RfA
Just to let you know that I wasn't offended at all, and that my oppose vote wan't personal, or any comment on your status and abilities as an editor. And your football affiliation didn't sway me either, as the last time I went to a match was when my grandfather used to take me to Boston United games (home and away) about forty years ago. I remember standing in the rain in places like Corby and Worksop, but I don't recall ever getting to Ipswich. I don't think that's what put me off football, though I couldn't rule it out. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 11:35, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
- Hey, thanks for that! I appreciate that most, if not all, oppose votes aren't personal. It's strange, having put up with vandals calling me everything under the sun, insulting my family etc, I would have thought my skin was thicker, but the RFA appears just a shade more personal. As for being taken to football, if you were watching the Pilgrims, there would have been little chance of a trip to Ipswich! Mind you, "back in the day", division 3 (south) and all that, who knows! Cheers for your message. Budgiekiller 11:56, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
My AfD of 4649
Oops...I did know that. I need to stop editing late at night and early in the morning. I haven't listed at RfD before. Does the process work the same there? Thanks for the heads up. --Onorem 13:02, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
Removing an AfD tag
Hey. Sorry to bother you again. I messed up last night and reverted several edits in which a vandal was removing prods and other templates. I'm trying to fix that this morning by relisting them all at AfD since I shouldn't have replaced the prods. The last article I tagged with afd1, Fallen Sword, had no reason given in it's prod as to why it should be deleted. It looks like the article needs work, but I don't think an AfD is necessary yet. Can I remove the afd1 tag, or do I need to finish the process and then withdraw my nomination? Thanks again. --Onorem 13:35, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
- Since the AFD is currently malformed, I would remove the afd1 tag, as long as you're certain that Fallen Sword meets WP:WEB. If you're not sure, then you could go ahead and complete the listing, opening it up for discussion, no harm done. Cheers! Budgiekiller 13:41, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks again. I did decide to just finish the listing. --Onorem 13:49, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
- Not a problem, glad to be of help. Budgiekiller 13:51, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
RfA
I think you completely misunderstood Chacor. Read his comment about replying to oppose votes again, and this time ignore the brackets. Ironic. --Dweller 18:51, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
- Oh yeah. Live and learn! Good win today for your boys. ITFC get the luxury of a midweek replay against a League 2 side. Great. Budgiekiller 19:40, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
Give you chance to get it off your Chest...er. Who's your favourite player? Chester Drawers? Oh, I'm so funny. If it's any consolation, I don't even want a midweek replay against a team in the same division... especially them Rs. And another consolation - I make it 84% support at present. Keep the chin up! Bubba hotep 22:18, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
- Ooh, ha de ha... a suppose an away draw vs QPR isn't quite so embarrassing....! Budgiekiller 22:53, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
Could be worse: you could support Middlebrough, Fulham, Charlton, or Sheffield United... or Norwich. Oh, the wonder of the cup! Nighty night, Suffolk. Bubba hotep 23:01, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
- Eh? Norwich won. --Dweller 11:07, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, but they're still Norwich! May I refer you to FA Cup Final 1978 and UEFA cup Final 1981 - we have a trophy cabinet, don't you know! I'm only havin' a laff! Budgiekiller 11:55, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
RfA responses to oppose !votes
I've tried to explain how you misinterpreted Chacor. I hope you pass, but if not, I plan to renom in a few weeks. --Dweller 11:07, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
- Hey, thanks for your support throughout this. To be honest, if people are going to vote oppose because I've responded to other people's oppose vote in a polite and constructive manner, it does make you wonder if the process is faulty. I may make a suggestion that prospective candidates should be allowed to answer oppose votes in the future, this is a wiki, after all, and it surprises me that responses to comments are considered confrontational. It seems that WP:AGF has been jettisoned for time being!
- I've been working hard on CFDs and AFDs now for two days to improve the wikispace edits. We'll just have to see how it goes. Cheers for now! Budgiekiller 11:50, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
Featured picture!
Can I nominate your image of the Donald Bradman statue to be a featured picture? Kamope | userpage | talk | contributions 00:04, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, why not. I very much suspect that it won't meet the extremely high standards required, but it may be worth a go just to see how to improve things. Go for it. Budgiekiller 13:12, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks. Kamope | userpage | talk | contributions 22:24, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
Re: Days of our Lives Actors and Characters
It is incorrectly capitalized; as per WP:MOS, the A and C don't need capitalization, as they're not proper nouns. Cheers. -- Kicking222 14:52, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
- Ahah, I thought you meant "Days of our Lives", not "Days of Our Lives".... ho hum! Budgiekiller 16:36, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
WOW
Are you kidding me? What of my post about David Wade seemed like nonsense? You are not only insane, but you deny every person who reads and loves David Wade valuable information. In addition, you are a sad, lonely man/woman, (I would assume your a man considering woman cannot deny David Wade) and I pity you for your worthlessness and your seemingly endless ability to dissapoint.
Good day,
GET A JOB. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 216.20.64.77 (talk • contribs).
- Thank you, but phrases such as "...filthy slut..." and "...because he had to take a dump..." probably ought not be contained within an encyclopaedic entry about a school. Cheers! Budgiekiller 18:24, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
Wikipedia_talk:Requests_for_adminship/Budgiekiller
Thanks for your comments on Wikipedia_talk:Requests_for_adminship/Budgiekiller. I was impressed with your maturity and calmness under fire. And I've decided I will give it more thought and review my !vote before the closure of your RfA. Cheers, Sarah 06:11, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for your message. I wasn't able to review it because I have (unexpectedly) been away for the last 3 days (my message above was actually my last message) and I just returned tonight. My apologies, Sarah 21:03, 11 January 2007 (UTC) P.S. Nice new name, I like it. :) Sarah 21:03, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

Your RFA
Hello, I think I will remain neutral for this RFA. I will be glad to see you on RFA in four to five months time, its not time yet imo. However, don't take it personally and I feel I can't support you. Please don't feel discouraged, just work harder and try for another RFA later on. Terence Ong 10:19, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks very much for your consideration and kind words Terence. All the best. Budgiekiller 10:32, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
Fancy a collaboration?
How about working together to get Summer_of_four_captains up to GA status? It's already appeared as a WP:DYK with some help from the cricket wikiproject. I think it'd be good for both of us to take an article to GA status. I certainly learned a lot when helping save Chess's FA status. --Dweller 14:13, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- Anything with Goochie in works for me! Budgiekiller 14:21, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
Thanks
Only just realised while archiving my talk page that you reverted a scally who left a less than complimetary message on my talk page yesterday. Cheers! Bubba HotEp 14:27, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- It's always an honour and pleasure to serve you! Budgiekiller 14:57, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
Maybe we should have a competition to come up with a new name for you. I'll contact Blue Peter immediately! (Is it still on?) :) Bubba HoTep 08:52, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, I was expecting this for a while to be honest. That's why I've got the caveat on my user page. Never mind, I've requested it gets changed to BK, and any curious users can ask me why. And Blue Peter is still on, yes. I tune in whenever possible to see the beautiful (but inherently annoying) Zoe Salmon! Budgiekiller 08:55, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- BK? Isn't that a fast food chain? And anyway, it's a username so... bereft of personality. If you're going to change your name, why not one trumpeting Ipsh!t instead? It'd suit your personality very well to have a positive one. How about Horse Lover? (joke) More seriously, may I humbly suggest User:Tractorfactor? --Dweller 09:03, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, it's a fast food chain, ironically one where I spent two years of my youth working. I'm going to stick with it, I know it's bereft of personality, but I suspect I'll get round to generating a half decent signature in the not-too-distant future which won't necessarily say "BK". We'll see. Horse Lover. Pah, you budgies.... Budgiekiller 09:10, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- Thought you'd like that! <grins> Up the horsies! --Dweller 09:24, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
How about User:Psittacosis? It has been known to kill a few avine species, not just budgies. Shall I get me coat? Bubba HoTep 09:32, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- <laughs so much he falls right off his little swing> --Dweller 09:34, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- No doubt I'd run into half a dozen vets in the RFA that would find parrot fever offensive! And yes, get your coat...! Budgiekiller 09:56, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
Summer of four captains
I have a lousy internet connection this evening (narrowband speed, I'd say) so forgive me if my contributions are a little sparse for now. --Dweller 18:09, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- Me too, or perhaps it's Wikipedia. BBC News works just fine for me... Not to worry, no time limit, we'll get there. Budgiekiller 18:27, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- Yup, think it was just WP. (Is there anything else) Seems back to normal now, but someone wants me to watch bloody Casualty with them... the things we do for love, eh? I'd rather chew my own feet off than watch that miserable programme. --Dweller 20:04, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
Re the 1st Test plate. Nice work. Can I be a curmudgeon? I don't know what (if any) guidelines there are, but Jarvis' 2 wkts and Marshall's 1 in the 1st and 2nd innings respectively seem unworthy of inclusion. And since the article text credits Gooch and Gower with saving the match in the 2nd innings, Gower's innings should be there. What do you think? One more thing. I hope you don't mind, but I've dropped a line on User:ALoan's talk page, asking him to mentor the process towards GA. I chose him because he's very knowledgable about cricket (and contributes a lot to WP:CRIC), has, I think, much experience of FA and GA, and finally, it was he who successfully proposed the article for its DYK. --Dweller 09:31, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, the "1 for" and "2 for" aren't worthy, when I first started using the template it didn't support one innings without leaving a bunch of {'s and }'s everywhere, so I had to subst the template and edit it manually. By all means we can remove the non-notable bowling. I'll crack on with the rest in due course.
- As for getting ALoan on board, suits me fine. All hands to the pumps. By the way, here's a DYK of my own. Budgiekiller is a qualified cricket scorer, having passed his exams in 1992 with a 91.75% mark. Not bad, eh?! Budgiekiller 09:59, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- Hah, BK's off, already taken allegedly, although I can see no sign of it. Got to use my imagination a bit more methinks... Budgiekiller 13:51, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
Bye
It was nice knowing you. --Sir James Paul, La gloria è a dio 01:12, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Perhaps, for the benefit of American readers, you can choose a name more recognizable on this side of the pond (we don't keep budgies here). How about ParakeetKiller? Fan-1967 14:48, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- DodoKiller shouldn't ought to offend anyone... Already got my coat on from before... Bubba HoTep 14:52, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- Okay you lot, keep the noise down. I'm waiting for a decision from the name change brigade... Budgiekiller 15:55, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry. ;) By the way, User:BK has made an edit a year for the last two years. Would be a shame to usurp him! Bubba HoTep 16:07, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- The world will be a sadder place by a bit if you have to change the "killer" part. Screw'em if they can't take a joke.

[1]. Had to laugh at that. Thanks! Amazing how many "articles" fail so many policies...ah well. Cheers, Moreschi Deletion! 19:43, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- Indeed! It's a good job that people such as your good self are here to protect us from such WP:BOLLOCKS! Budgiekiller 19:44, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- Quite. Have you seen {{Early Universal Century Mobile weapons}} and the associated AFDs? More in a similar vein. Not bollocks, just cruft. And quit flatterising, for I warn you, He is like a refiner's fire. When in a bad mood. Moreschi Deletion!
- Yeah, I noticed that. I got the willies thinking about the whole bunch of them being AFD'ed... Flatterising over, you crazy mofo. Budgiekiller 19:53, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- And thanks for the vote, in spite of my inability to edit pages and understand policy! Budgiekiller 19:57, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
People get so hung up on policy: I just run with CIVIL, AGF, V, NPA, but most of all IAR. I used to hate IAR; now I'm a big fan. I'm a quarter of the way through the AFD noms, but I think I'll start doing 3 at a time to same everyone's time tomorrow. It'll have to be tomorrow, cause the AFD log for today is just about to explode, it's so big. Cheers, Moreschi Deletion! 20:07, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

I'm doing my best to resist feeling flattered by your comment! In the interest of full disclosure, i'll say that i am compulsive and usually say far too much. On my own behalf, however, i'm a bit compulsive in trying to make that far-too-muchness clear, and it sounds as if i may have succeeded for once. Thanks!

- You're welcome. I'm partway through a miserable (relatively speaking) run on my own AFD so it was lovely to read yours and see people appreciate your contributions! Budgiekiller 21:14, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

AFD vote on Mr. Lady records
Hello, you voted to delete Mr. Lady Records on articles for deletion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mr. Lady Records. I have added many reliable sources to the article, and ensured it now asserts this (now defunct) record label's notability at the time (meeting WP:RS and WP:CORP, the two concerns raised. I'd be very grateful if you could consider revisitng the AFD and the updated article, and consider whether the article should still be deleted. If you still don't believe it meets Wikipedia requirements, please advise as to why (this would be helpful). Many thanks. Proto::► 00:23, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

It was my pleasure to support you in your RfA. I really did think you were an admin, and considered you to be one of the "famous" wikipedians (eg. User:The Transhumanist and User:Nishkid64). Good luck next time! | AndonicO Talk | Sign Here 18:16, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
The RFA
Don't lose hope, my friend. You'll get there eventually. Please though, don't grow a conscience. I did in regards to the Jimbo Wales issue in regards to the credibility of Wikipedia, and now I bet i'll never become an admin because of it despite the fact I wanted to help Wikipedia. Just H 18:24, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

- Congratulations on putting yourself forward into the scrutiny of the community - you'll be an adminstrator someday! Cheers! Yuser31415 19:27, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
I know that I was neutral on this, but in principle I'm supportive. Get involved in more Wikispace things (AfDs, CfDs, etc.), and try again in a while; I'm sure that you'll succeed.
Mind you, if I were being really friendly and supportive, I'd advise you to run a mile from anyone offering you the mop and bucket — it really isn't a lot of laughs... --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 19:30, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
- Sad to see it fail... but please don't be downcast yerself. How about trying again in 2 months, with a new inoffensive username, a GA behind you, plenty of Wikipedia edits, some better "understanding of process", a bit of tone work (honestly, I think you're tremendously civil, to people who often don't deserve it!) and not responding to too many oppose votes? --Dweller 19:33, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
- Not a total failure. People will get to know you better now they have seen your name. Also it will give you some time to reflect and improve where you need to improve. And I think you are very close anyway. Agathoclea 19:53, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
