[edit] ELO Articles

Hello! Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. I appreciate your work with the ELO articles but please take the time to read up on some of the guidelines on Wikipedia.

  • WP:ALBUM - This discusses some of the naming conventions that songs have to be categorize as - also it provides the guidelines for an article that is an album
  • WP:LYRICS - Not any lyric can just be added on here - lyrics are usually copyrighted under the name of the artist - this page provides guidelines for adding lyrics to articles

If you have any questions, just ask. Thank you. Douglasr007 02:18, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

I also recommend you read Wikipedia:Citing sources and Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons. You should be especially careful in citing sources when writing about matters that affect the lives of living persons, or are related to legal situations. —Centrxtalk • 05:15, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use image use

Recently you've re-added fair use tagged content back to your userpage and {{User Electric Light Orchestra}}, specifically re-inserting the copyrighted image Image:ELO Logo.JPG. Per Wikipedia:Fair use criteria item #9, the use of fair use images on userpages or on templates is not permitted. Such images may only be used in the main article namespace. Please do not re-add the image back to that template or your userpage. If you have any questions about this, I'd be happy to answer. Thanks, --Durin 17:11, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

You're right. Durin is petty. He doesn't understand that it's not the rules people object to, it's his supreme fanactical use and interpretation thereof. Take a look at: User:Husnock/Durinconcerns. Sumoeagle179 02:59, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for your support Sumoeagle but you know Life is too short to let Jobsworth's bring you down

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Wake Me Up Before You Go Go.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Wake Me Up Before You Go Go.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit] Why?

Hello, can you explain me something? I created an ELO site (elodiscovery.com)and you deleted his link from the "Electric Light Orchestra" wikidepedia page. Why?????? It's one of the most popular website about this band (about 500 visitors every week). Can you explain me please? Thanks Regards 05 February 2007 —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jefflynnefan (talkcontribs) 01:03, 5 February 2007 (UTC).
