[edit] Your flags
Hi! Aren't you afraid that some unwary person will enter your invented "flags" as real by error, on various pages of Wikipedia? Wetman 05:22, 9 Sep 2004 (UTC)
It's nice that you're illustrating the articles with flags, but please leave a fuller caption than simply "flag" (e.g. "Flag of Kiribati"). Better yet, make it complete sentence as outlined at WikiProject Writing Captions. Cheers, Jiang 07:06, 9 Sep 2004 (UTC)
Re: Image:FlagofHmongPeople.png: who has adopted this flag? I live in a city with a lot of Hmong, and I've never seen it. Simply asserting it as their flag at Hmong seems to me to be confusing.
At the very least, it would sure be nice if you could cite sources for these presumably controversial flags of non-sovereign entities. I'm glad to have them, and probably each of them deserves an article, but just the picture without an explanation seems to me to be problematic. -- Jmabel 07:26, Sep 9, 2004 (UTC)
I'd like info on the Bulgarian-Hungarian and the Bulgarian-Turkish people that you mention on flags of non-sovereign nations. There's no article on them, nor have I been able to google any info. I'm afraid that we may have to start deleting en masse listings in that page that have no articles with references behind them. Anyway could you tell me where you found those flags?Aris Katsaris 18:31, 10 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Image deletion warning | The image Image:FlagofWestPapua.png has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images. If the image's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. If you have any information on the source or licensing of this image, please go to its page to provide the necessary information. |
- Hi, I'm pretty sure that image qualifies as PD-Flag so I changed it... I didn't see it listed on Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images anyway. Zcrayfish 09:49, 11 July 2005 (UTC)
- Whatever page I found with the PUI instructions only seemed to state the templates were needed, so I thought the WP:PUI process had been changed. Thanks for clarification. (SEWilco 15:55, 11 July 2005 (UTC))
[edit] Image Tagging Image:FlagofAndalusia.png
|
Thanks for uploading Image:FlagofAndalusia.png. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Thuresson 12:18, 22 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Flags of the World
Almost all of the flags uploaded by this user have been downloaded from the Flags of the World website. He claims to have created them by himself, but they are pixel-to-pixel copies, just converted to PNG. I've tagged all of them accordingly and added the original URL to the description page. –Mysid 11:22, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
