[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Banner.JPG
Thanks for uploading Image:Banner.JPG. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Matthuxtable 15:48, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Halo2limitedcontent.jpg)
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Halo2limitedcontent.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Jusjih 01:08, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] License tagging for Image:Halo2 banshee roll.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Halo2 banshee roll.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Halo2 banshee roll.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Halo2 banshee roll.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BrownCow • (how now?) 00:16, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Aston Martin DB9 Volante
I have been trying to remove the formal vandal warning from your page and replace it with a note to say that you shouldn't really close AfDs by blanking the page. It is best to let process take its course and for a proper consensus to evolve. I am putting this message here because due to technical difficulties, I cannot access your talk page. [edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:FXX logo.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:FXX logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. Thank you. [edit] Fair use problem with Image:Ferrari Enzo side logo.jpg
I notice you uploaded the image Image:Ferrari Enzo side logo.jpg with the {{logo}} fair use image tag. However, it appears that this tag is totally unrelated to the content of the image, and as a result it may qualify for speedy deletion. Image:Ferrari Enzo side logo.jpg has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.
If you can find a valid tag that expresses why Image:Ferrari Enzo side logo.jpg can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the {{logo}} tag that you have placed on it with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{fairusein|article name that the image is used in}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the image. However, you must not remove the speedy deletion notice. Thank you, and please feel free to continue contributing to Wikipedia. BSI 22:38, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use image use
Please note that per our policies as described at Wikipedia:Fair use criteria the use of fair use images, such as Image:GoogleG.JPG outside of the main article namespace is not permitted. Thus, such images can not be used on templates, userboxes, or userpages. If you have any questions about this, I'd be happy to answer. Thanks, --Durin 20:12, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
- You have again added fair use tagged images to your userpage [1] which I have now deleted [2]. The images in particular are Image:Seinfeld.png, Image:1vs100logo.JPG, Image:C-SimpFamily.png and Image:20060130 akon logo.jpg. These are all fair use tagged images and can not be used on your userpage per our policies as noted above. Since you are aware of the policies but are choosing to violate them, I am giving you a final warning. Do not add such images to your userpage or any other non-main namespace article again or you will be temporarily blocked from editing. I am happy to help assist you in what is and is not a fair use image if you are uncertain about such issues, but continuing to willfully violate our policies is unacceptable behavior. --Durin 04:17, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
