Contents

[edit] 19 April 2005

  1. Crafton, Buckinghamshire - its a hamlet in UK, but decent enough. Progress 6 months later: none. Progress after 17 months: none
  2. Violence in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict 2005 - not out of date, well categorised. Progress 6 months later: lots. still seemingly up-to-date. Progress after 17 months: Small, probably incomplete, updates. Various wikification mark-ups.
  3. DSA Driving Theory Test - UK, i had to fix a link, maybe a bit of history could've been in there, but it was OK. Progress 6 months later: minor. External links added. Progress after 17 months: 2 extra paragraphs, 2 more Weblinks
  4. Fenton House - another British page I'm slightly familiar with (I've been there about 6 years ago). I had to wikify it, and its a stub still. Don't like the page. Progress 6 months later: stub sorted. Progress after 17 months: Image, pointless stub-sorting.
  5. Sea of No Cares - Canadian album, apparently super successfull. Meh, its pretty ok. Progress 6 months later: catted, stub sorted. Progress after 17 months: proper infobox, a few details. Been rated as "Start-class" by Album Wikiproject
  6. Clifford D. Simak - USA, poor page, probly all copied from somewhere. Progress 6 months later: huge. 3 more interlanguage links, many cats, reworded, fleshed out. Well done User:Ahasuerus. Progress after 17 months: Another paragraph, large-scale categorisation. br, cs, de, fa, gl, it, lv, uk interwikis
  7. Yazid I - Arab, hey, this looks nice, had to wikify a bit tho. Progress 6 months later: extremely good. fleshed out. NPOV not yet acceded to. Progress after 17 months: Not entirely sure about NPOV, but article been rewritten to sound smoother, fleshed out. Half a dozen new threads on discussion page, to sort out the POV.
  8. Marie-Line Reynaud - French, I know of her. And her article is acceptable for her level on notoriety (not very high). Progress 6 months later: minor edits, checkin links. Progress after 17 months: Just catting and re-stubbing.
  9. Dovre National Park - Norway, well-linked page. However, as a stub this gets a neutral mark from me. Progress 6 months later: still a stub, no progress. Progress after 17 months: Just catting and re-stubbing.
  10. Reciprocal altruism - zoology - very interesting page. Which was poorly wikified, and I could add another example to it. Progress 6 months later: subsectioned. worthwhile progress. Progress after 17 months: Someone's slapped a {cleanup} tag on and done recatting. de interwiki added
So what can we make of this? That you can learn things well. Its not too anglophone-biased (5 anglophones v 5 non-anglophones). And overall 5 good pages against 2 bad pages and 3 OK pages. So i say "nice going wikipedia"
Update on 24 October 2005, 6 months after the test: 3 articles made lots of progress, 5 just minor progress, 2 no progress at all.
Further update on 5 September, 11 months after previous progress update: 4 with decent progress, 4 with small progress, 2 which brought nothing extra into the article.
