I am in love with all things German. I am fluent in the language and enjoy reading literature of the country. One of my favorite German works of literature is The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka and another (which I have yet to read in the original tongue) is Demian by Hermann Hesse.

However, much as I love German I must agree with Mark Twain in his essay on The Awful German Language that "A person who has not studied German can form no idea of what a perplexing language it is" and I should have never picked it up in the first place.

I am currently an undergraduate college student, studying English Writing, Psychology and German, and fully recognize that none of those are applicable in the real world, but don't really care.
