Andrea is very involved in the Washington, DC community as an active volunteer and fundraiser. She chairs the 1869 Society steering committee for The Corcoran Gallery of Art, and serves The Junior League of Washington on their Esprit committee. In 2004, Andrea raised $20K while participating in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Woman of the Year fundraising competition, and won the title of “2nd Runner Up”. In 2005, she and two other ladies initiated the Blondes vs. Brunettes Powder Puff Football Game, which raised $10K for The Alzheimer’s Association in 2006. After a documentary was made about the creation of this fundraiser, the event has been added to the Alzheimer’s Association’s list annual events, and the concept is being duplicated in several other major cities to raise money and to bring more Alzheimer’s awareness to young people.

Andrea is President and CEO of The Courage Cup, a Virginia 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. The Courage Cup plans an annual polo match fundraiser raising money for Work to Ride, a successful program that aids disadvantaged urban youth through constructive activities centered on horseback riding and education. Andrea took over as President and Chairman of The Courage Cup in September of 2006, and presented Work to Ride with an $8K donation at The Washington International Horse Show at The Verizon Center on October 27, 2006.

In October of 2006, Andrea reached out to The Washington Humane Society with her concept for a fashion show fundraiser featuring both fashion for dogs and their owners. Fashion for Paws will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2007 at the French Embassy and will feature 40 prominent men and women from the Greater DC area who will compete via fundraising for the title of “Model Washingtonian of the Year”. This event will be an annual event for The Washington Humane Society.
