The_stuart is Stuart Feild, a history major at the University of Arkansas. He is also a computer technical assistant for the university. Feild is awaiting a username change, and hopes to be editing under the new username currentdatentime in the near future.
Feild made his first edit as a registered user on October 11, 2004 when he added a category, "Esperanto Films", to the article about the movie Gattaca, after reading the article and remembering that Esperanto was spoken over loudspeakers during the film [1]. Since that fateful day he has made approximately 4000 edits to the Wikipedia.
[edit] Contributions to the Wikipedia
Feild is a prolific contributor to Wikipedia and is often listed among the top 1000 on the top 2000 editors of Wikipedia.
Articles about his home state, Arkansas, have been something of a passion, especially its history. He started the articles Arkansaurus fridayi, Onyx Cave, Monte Ne, Mystic Caverns and Crystal Dome, Fouke Monster, Connie Hamzy, Paragould Meteorite, Arkansas gubernatorial election, 2006, SEFOR, and Parkview Arts and Science Magnet High School. He's also done substantial work on the articles The University of Arkansas, Andrew Hunter (his great great grandfather), The Brooks-Baxter War, and The Tower Building of the Little Rock Arsenal. To date, however, Feild has dedicated more time to the article Dogpatch USA than any other article he has worked on. Dogpatch is now a featured article and has also appeared on the Wikipedia front page.
Feild has also written two articles about the administration of United States president George W. Bush: George W. Bush's first term as president of the United States and George W. Bush's first term to second term cabinet reorganization. He also wrote the article 2004 United States Congressional Spending Bill and List of areas disputed by the United States and Canada.
His interest in innovative and avant garde music is reflected in his articles about the Triadex Muse (the first digital musical instrument), Oskar Sala (the most prominent trautonium player ever), Enoch Light (the first record producer to take advantage of stereo sound), and articles for the bands Soophie Nun Squad and Hurra Torpedo as well as ones for the songs Free Bird and I Heard It Through the Grapevine. He also created the List of hip hop labels and monitors the List of hardcore punk bands.
Throughout the course of his 24 years, Feild has spent a considerable amount of time watching movies and television. As a result he has an appreciable understanding of American pop culture and has written many articles for Wikipedia based on this knowledge, including The Rock-afire Explosion, Elmo's World, The California Raisins, Recurring character, List of movies with TV shows and other movies in them and The Clapper. Other related works include significant contributions to Inspector Gadget, Nick at Nite, Flight of the Navigator, Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987 cartoon).
Feild's other interests have prompted him to create other articles on subjects such as computers (Normal.dot, GDrive, GBSTV, and Leszynski Naming Convention), and literature (All in the Timing, Hills Like White Elephants, most of the history section of the Land of Oz, and the Oz character Tik-Tok). Other subjects include the articles The Starry Night, Bloodless war, Clothes line, Clapping, Sitdown strike and List of fictional laws. He also created the article Jean Charles de Menezes but the bulk of its content must be credited to others.
Feild is currently working on bring the following articles up to featured article status:
[edit] Favorite Articles
There are several articles that Feild was not involved with in any way but nevertheless views as favorites because, as he says, "Without Wikipedia, the subject matter might never have been brought to my attention". These articles include Infinite monkey theorem, Exploding whale, Dagen H, OS-tan, Chapeaugraphy, Alan Smithee, Borf, Lorem ipsum, Ampelmännchen and University of Okoboji.
My absolute favorite article!
