[edit] History

2002

The band the Sell Outs began in February of 2002, under the name Subsidal. Johnny and Barber were the first two members of the band, owning guitars. Only weeks after the decision to begin a band, they met Mike, who had just moved to the area. About 4 months after that, Josh Tobin, a friend of the band joined on bass, but only lasted until November. The guys replaced him with another close friend, Russ.

2003

The band, consisting of four 13 year old kids, only covered songs by some of their then favourite bands. To be brutally honest, that's all that happened that year.

2004

The band, deciding on a final name, The Sell Outs, began to write original songs in about early to mid 2004. The first five songs written, including Excuseless and Stay Away, would end up on their first demo (recorded in May of 2004), which, after recording and listening to, was entitled "Beware Of Vocals". In September of 2004, the Sell Outs began playing in clubs and venues downtown, and in their first show downtown, a Bandwars, they won first place, awarding them free recording time.

2005

In January of 2005, the Sell Outs recorded a 10 song CD simply entitled "The Sell Outs", which included songs such as The Virus, Who Made The Decision?, 100 Takes, and more. They technically did not release the CD until April 16 (which happens to be Barber's birthday), at a show at the Docks. After playing more shows, the band decided that in August of 2005, they would record a new, 3 song EP, which would end up defining their current sound. In August of 2005, the music for the EP "A New Agenda" was recorded, and mixed and mastered in September. Over the rest of the year, the band continued to write new songs.

2006

The band has finished their new CD, entitled "The System Is Yours". It consists of eight songs, including Restricted Youth and Story Of Our Pathetic Lives. They've continued playing shows and writing new material, all while attempting to get signed.

Early 2007

The band is full of new material and will be recording a new demo in May of 2007.
