Ultraman Tiga: The Final Odyssey

The movie is set two years after the series ended. Ultraman Tiga: The Final Oddysey was sort of an epilogue of the Ultraman Tiga series. Just when we thought that the world is safe, it's under attack again! A TPC excursion (including GUTS' Captain Megumi Iruma) headed to an old ruins and unintentionally woke up three evil ancient giants whom Daigo, later on, has visions of. What's so haunting about his visions is that they're not only three but four evil giants, including Ultraman Tiga in a very dark physique and a very evil aura. After a series of visions, Daigo was able to meet the three evils who beat him up and left the Black Spark Lens to him. Later on, the ultimate battle begins in the ancient ruins. Daigo as Ultraman Tiga, who is supposed to be the warrior of light, must use his powers, however dark, in order to defeat the three evils

The captain of Guts Iruma and a crew of TPC are sailing to an island which Ultraman Tiga fought his last battle. In the cave, they discover a strange wall ,Iruma then recieves a vision and insits that the whatever is behind the wall be left untouched, but ultimatley she is shoved aside and they wall blasted inside the crew find three stone giants the leader of the crew believes them to be Ultramen but Iruma says in horror that these are dark Ultramen.

As they excavate the site, the Iruma finds the true purpose of this mission to get power. Grabing the remote she threatens to bomb the place however the dark Ultramen awaken destroying the site, unleashing monsters ( similar to the monster Melba Ultraman Tiga fought in the first episode of the series though much smaller), and killing the crew. When they are about to unleash their destruction to the world, the captain's spirit casts a pyramid of light which the dark warriors and monster cannot break. In the end, the captain falls unconsious.

Meanwhile, Daigo and Rena who have retired return to GUTS HQ and met their team ( except Iruma whose still on the island). The team tells them that she will return to see their wedding. Then the team fly to the site to find the captain. In there they find the ship empty and Horii out of bad luck runs into one of the monsters taking on the form a TPC crewmember.

While that is happening Daigo and Rena are enjoying themselves at a theme park until Daigo gets a dream of the same monsters on the island attacking the city. Among the confusion he is seperated from Rena and seeing the chaos he realizes the monsters heve not been fully exterminated but being no longer able to transform into Ultraman he can only watch, a voice soon appears asking him if he wants power and then, out of thin air, a black version of the Spark Lens, the item he used to transform, appears. Using it, he transforms and Tiga appears for a brief a moment before a flash of dark lightning reveals him turning into Tiga Dark. Just as he prepares to fight he hears a young girl begging her unconscious mother who is buried under a piece of rubble to wake up kneeling down he tries to help but not before the girl screams causing him great pain unable to control himself he crushes the girl. Daigo then wakes up, the whole experience turning out to be a dream.

Daigo tries to find some information about Tiga's past and learns that Tiga was an ally of the three Dark Ultramen, destroying an old city protected by other Ultramen. Daigo is then later contronted by Tiga's former allies and is offered a place beside them. He declines. Finally, Daigo is left alone and Rena finds him badly hurt, but wanting to face off against the Dark Ultramen.

On the island, he fought with all three of the Dark Ultramen as Tiga Dark, the form he saw in his dream. However he gains back his colors with each subsequent fight before finally regaining his Multi-Type form. In the end, he uses his light form to destroy the last dark Ultraman and destroying the island by the power of the past Ultraman. In the end, Guts escape with their captain.

  • In the end of the movie, you see an engineer walking pass Daigo. Daigo said (in thought speak) " Good Luck new hero". This speculates that the engineer is Shin Asuka who is Ultraman Dyna which is the sucessor of Tiga.
