Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

The episode opens with both Glynnis and Krista fighting with Agent Collins. They knock him aside and battle each other before Krista uses a silver backed mirror to ash Glynnis. Krista tells Collins to get out of her way, instead he shoots her twice with no effect. They both hear a crashing noise from the next room and realize that Krista's mom has reawakened and run off.

Chase appears in a strip club and is arguing with the owner over the price of his club. Marcus is trying to buy the club, but his price is too low and the owner refuses. A man in the club spots Chase and asks the bouncer to get her room number for him.

Blade and Shen go to Krista's mother's house and find the place trashed. Blade finds vampire ashes and Shen finds her mom's chemo drugs. They realize that Krista stole the serum from Blade to turn her mother. Krista returns and asks Blade to help her find her mother. He reluctantly agrees, and they figure out that her mom would go to Uncle Pat's house. Meanwhile, her mom breaks in and Uncle Pat finds her cowering in a closet.

Chase gets a visit from the man in the bar, who turns out to be a pureblood from the House of Erebus named Alex. Chase stood him up 63 years earlier. Alex talks to Chase and finds out that Chase is jealous of Krista. He tells Chase that Marcus was once married to a woman that looked like Krista, and that Marcus goes for that type. Chase suggests that she could move to Las Vegas and run things from there, putting some distance between her and Marcus.

Krista's mom zones out on Uncle Pat, sitting there in a haze until he suggests she go home, which she refuses to do. He is about to call 9-1-1 when she stops him, suggesting that she just needs "something to eat". Blade and Krista arrive and find Uncle Pat laying on the basement floor in a pool of blood. Blade takes his sword and beheads Uncle Pat to make sure he doesn't reanimate. Krista's mom ends up in a storage locker somewhere, looking at pictures of her family. She has flashes of her after death experience, where she saw Krista being turned by Marcus. A security guard confronts her mom, and her mom bleeds him.

Chase awakens in bed with Alex. He tells her she's beautiful, just as Marcus interrupts them. He orders Chase to get up and leave, and then exchanges words with the pureblood. The pureblood tells Marcus that he's just meat that got a reprieve, and that's all he'll ever be.

Krista and Blade figure out that Krista's mom is headed to the Chthon hotel. Krista's mom bursts into the lobby screaming for help, in front of Agent Collins who is sitting there waiting. The lobby clerk orders Krista's mom taken away and disposed of. Krista busts in a few minutes later and sees her mom being taken out. A woman comes in and tells Agent Collins that Marcus will see him, and Krista runs out into Blade's car and orders him to follow the ambulance that they put Krista's mom into. The EMTs are about to inject her with garlic to ash her when she breaks her restraints, killing both EMTs. The ambulance wrecks, and Krista and Blade pull up to retrieve Krista's mom. Blade wants to ash her but Krista stops him.

Agent Collins meets with Marcus and questions him about Zach and Krista. At first, Marcus denies knowing either one until Agent Collins reveals that he talked to Uncle Pat and that he knew Marcus and Krista were an item. Marcus tells Agent Collins that he only sees her once in a while and that he doesn't know where she is. Collins shows Marcus the glyph for the House of Chthon and asks what it is, Marcus says he doesn't know. Marcus gives Collins a slip of paper with an address and tells him to meet him there later.

Alex, the pureblood from Las Vegas, arrives in Marcus' office and offers him a check for $4 million, the amount Marcus needs to buy the property in Las Vegas. He tells Marcus that all he wants in return is Chase. Chase at first is offended that Alex is trying to purchase her, but then agrees that she'd rather be with him than Marcus. Marcus relents, and tells Chase to go if she wants to. Marcus wants Chase to pour them all one last drink.

Agent Collins meets with his boss, who takes his gun and tells him that he's being relieved of duty. Collins tells him that Marcus isn't human, that he's something else. The boss tells Collins that he believes him, and that he's going to have a plane pick him up tomorrow so that they can investigate further.

Alex awakens strapped to a chair, in a sealed off room with Chase. Marcus tells Alex that he's going to help with an experiment. He reveals that the Aurora virus is aimed at purebloods, and that it will only kill them. They introduce the virus into the room, where Alex dies slowly and painfully, but Chase is unaffected. At the end of the show, we cut to Krista's mom strapped to a chair at Blade's warehouse. She's not responding to the serum, she's fed too many times and has been turned too long. Krista's mom tries to attack Shen, and Krista aims a shotgun at her and just as she pulls the trigger the screen goes dark as a gun blast is heard.
