Theosophical Society Point Loma-Covina

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Theosophical Society Point Loma-Covina is a theosophical organization that developed from the TS Pasadena.

In 1951 James A. Long was elected as president of the TS Pasadena. This election was however controversial, because William Hartley got more votes but lost the election. As a result, the Dutch Section of the TS under the leadership of D.J.P. Kok separated from the TS Pasadena. Many other lodges followed. They formed the new society Theosophical Society Point Loma-Covina. William Hartley became president until his death in 1955. After Hartley's death, the lodges of the Theosophical Society Point Loma-Covina became independent. Most of the lodges also changed their name. The Dutch section was renamed to I.S.I.S. (= International Study-centre for Independent Search for truth). The German section is still called TG Point Loma-Covina and has its headquarters in Hannover. They publish the journal Das Forum in their publishing house Verlag Esoterische Philosophie.
