Theatre Pro Rata
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Theatre Pro Rata is a small, professional theater company operating the in the Twin Cities. The term "Pro Rata" comes from the Latin for "In Proportion." The company describes itself as a "text-based, actor-centered" company, and their productions are marked by an intense focus on the text of the play itself.
Formed in 2000 by husband and wife team Joseph Papke and Carin Bratlie,[1] the company's production of Trainspotting was voted the #1 play at the 2002 Minnesota Fringe Festival. Pro Rata capitalized on this success to produce ever-expanding seasons and has taken up residence in St. Paul's Loading Dock Theater alongside fellow small theater company Gremlin Theatre.
